A pleasant, slightly bouncy-swaying pedestrian bridge. There are nice shops in the immediate area. There is residential photo artist near the bridge on the other side that is worth a visit.

My husband and I stopped to check out the ditch and walk the suspension bridge. It was a fun experience and such a quick stop it is worth the drive off the main road. History of the Menehune is interesting as well.

so you've seen Waimea Canyon and done a Napali Coast cruise, well, read up a bit on your history and come and see the Menehune Ditch. I won't go into the history of it here -I followed the Shaka app driving tour, as other posters have said, its a bit off the beaten track but not far really and it will tell you the story of this place. Enjoy the bridge with no other tourists, enjoy the authenticity of a real local area and challenge yourself!

Followed our Shaka driving tour app to this spot. I like history and folklore so I was curious to see the remnants of the irrigation ditch engineered by the first Hawaiians. The attraction is a 2 foot plaque above the ditch.

It’s a mere five minutes from the main drag so it could be worth it if you’re a history buff! There is a suspension bridge here, too, but I didn’t cross it. It’s surely safe but the clientele and rusting cars and trucks on the other side didn’t look inviting to tourists.

This needs more information to locate. No signs indicating a historical land mark from the main highway. We couldn’t find it using two different app maps and searching by all the names, Menehune ditch, Kiki a Ola and Peekauai ditch. Drove up and down Menehune road, took several turns into private lands, had a great adventure but never saw the structure.

Another legendary place to visit! It's off the beaten track, not much parking but it can be had. The legendary stories of the 'Menehunes' are quite something to look into... their accomplishments rival those of the early Egyptians, Aztecs and others, especially when one looks further into the history and legends of days long ago.

We drove to this while using our Shaka Guide driving tour app. It was interesting to see. There is a swinging bridge there but it was raining so we didn't spend much time out of the car.

An interesting stop, but really not that great. The drive is through what appears to be a lower income area, and there is really hardly any parking. There is a historical marker with some interesting info, a swinging bridge like the one in Hanapepe and river that runs red. That pretty goes with others have said about it.
