My mom and I were walking our dogs along the trail just past downtown near the overpass. A large grey pit bull came out of nowhere and attacked our dogs and bit my mom on the arm. She is on her way to the ER right now. This trail is NOT SAFE!!!

Safe, desirable place to ride your bicycle and enjoy Mother Nature's beauty and GOD'S Creation. Nice, smooth paved surfaces and sufficient place to stop and take a break, use the restroom, get a drink of water and just relax.

We were two couples from Illinois and another from Alabama who met in New Albany to ride the Tanglefoot Trail. We definitely weren't disappointed. Day #1 we left from New Albany and rode to Pontotoc, 37.5 miles. We had a beautiful day; 75 degrees and overcast with a nice wind. This trail is flat, paved and smooth as glass. We enjoyed several restaurants in New Albany and then packed up and moved to Houston, MS for our second day of riding. We stayed at the Bridges-Hall B & B, which is located approximately a 1/2 mile from the southern trail start. We rode North to Algoma and stopped at the Algoma Cafe along the trail. WOW, this little roadside gas station/cafe offered a great selection of southern fried entrees along with sandwiches and snacks. The restroom facilities along this trail were fantastic, approximately every 10 miles. We rode 40 miles on Day #2. I would definitely recommend this trail to everyone; it is a safe, well traveled, canopied paved trail with lots of places to stop along the way for snacks and resting. We couldn't believe the number of people who were amazed that we drove that far just to ride their trail. They don't realize what a jewel they have in their state!

Downtown New Albany has several wonderful restaurants to choose from. Eating at The Rainey on Saturday evening which is across the corner from the trailhead was a perfect reason to take a moonlight stroll on the trail. Views of constellations, flitting bats overhead, and singing crickets serenaded us as we walked.

The trailhead in New Albany is near a revitalized downtown area with multiple restaurants and shops. Other trailheads were likewise in close proximity o facilities. We ate at the Main Street Trolley in Ecru, MS and it was a very good breakfast! I particularly enjoyed my pork cutlet.
We’ve ridden over 100 Rails to Trails and this trail was as well maintained as any with truly nice “whistle stops” (rest areas) and great signage. We will absolutely return, the only issue (and it’s tiny) is the signs explaining traffic flow confused the heck out of me. I’m posting a picture so if someone could explain please do so!

We are local and use the trail multiple times a week! My husband and I often go for jogs. When we have the kids, we usually rollerblade or ride bikes! It's a wonderful trail! Very beautiful, no matter where you start at or what direction you go in. There's a nice spot in our town that has a stretching area, picnic tables, and bathrooms. So glad to have this in our town!

This trail is great for a stroll, run, or bike ride. Not too challenging but has great country views.

I mainly use the trail for walking, but my family has participated in biking events. The trailhead has got many shops & eating places are within biking distance from the trailhead. Also downtown is within walking distance from the trailhead with many unique stores available.

An easy 45mile trip through the woods and farmland of north Mississippi. The three main stops are typical of the area with new Albany being my preferred stop because of the restaurants. There is a great one plus a coffee shop st the trailhead

I biked the length of this trail, from New Albany to Houston. It's got great amenities and more are being added (both by local governments and the private sector), including places to stay. I admit I didn't expect to find 2 40+-mile trails in Mississippi, and I wouldn't miss this one. One thing that could make it better would be signposted bike-friendly road routes to Tupelo, Oxford and the Natchez Trace. And don't forget the signs pointing us out-of-towners to ice cream and other places to stop and spend some money!
