Our tour guide Alonzo was very knowledgeable about each site and the general history if the city itself. He was very polite and made us feel interested and comfortable throughout the whole tour. We enjoyed his personal insights on the city due to his extensive residency. Would recommend.

On 8/2 - 8/5 twenty-six members of our family from Minnesota took a trip to Wendover, NV. 18 of us went on the Intermountain Guide Service Bonneville Salt Flats tour and had a BLAST. The tour started exactly on time when two Intermountain vehicles picked us up at Montego Bay Casino. Our tour guides Brent and Arilio(?) were EXCELLENT. We learned more about the Salt Flats and surrounding area than we ever imagined possible. Our guides were very knowledgeable, professional, funny and accomodating. The BEST part was that we actually drove out onto the flats and had a "race" of sorts between the two vehicles. There was a rocket club event going on and we saw a number of launches and recoveries which were a bonus we hadn't expected. My one desire of the whole trip was to get out on the flats and drive something (ATV, side by side, car... something), but unfortunately that wasn't possible without a LOT of expense. Fortunately, becuase of Brent, Arilio and Intermountain, I got the next best thing, riding shotgun with Brent as we sped across the flats. Many in our group said the Intermountain tour was the best thing about the whole trip. IF YOU EVER GET ANYWHERE NEAR THE BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS, GET OUT THERE TO SEE THEM, AND THE BEST WAY TO DO THAT, IS WITH INTERMOUNTAIN GUIDE SERVICE. THANKS AGAIN Intermountain. Poor communication, called on Saturday at 2:30 pm, left message regarding booking a tour and did not receive a callback until Sunday at 10 am. Booked tour for Tuesday at 11:30 am, arrived in the area at 11:14 am, called to confirm pickup time and location. Received callback at 11:50 and made a late pickup. The van used by this company was in poor condition. The air conditioning was not working, outside temperature was 95 degrees and the ventilation was open windows. The driver/guide could not be heard in the back of the van with the wind from the windows and the road noise of the van. The van was not equipped with any assistance to enter the van, no step stool or other assistance to make a 3 foot vertical move. Several of the passengers were senior citizens with challenges in making the entry and exit from the van. On the final stop, the driver/guide made a stop at an area with several informational plaques and advised us to disembark and read the plaques as it would be more information than he could provide. The van, the guide, and the customer service were all substandard and this tour is not worth the $30 per person.

Multiple phone calls and emails left unanswered. We tried booking a tour, but no response in two days. On their website it says call or email anytime if you have questions - really crappy service.

We took the salt flats tour with our guide, Alfonzo. He was very informative and gave us quite the history lesson of the area. We got to go out to the salt flats and take pictures, there was water out there on them, he had boots for us to put on so we could walk out into the water. We had a great time, he even stopped so we could pick up a souvenier t-shirt! It was a great time!

We wanted to get away from the casino so decided on a tour of the salt flats. It was very interesting but is described as a 90 minute tour and we were back at our hotel after an hour. We had to ask our guide, Brandon, to stop so we could take some pictures. The salt flats were interesting but I thought the guide could have taken us to other areas since we had time.

Nice time learning about the history of the area. Salt flats, mining and geology were interesting. Then to the airfield for a history lesson to expand our knowledge. Overall nice relaxing trip.

This was our first trip to Wendover. We were only there for 3 days. I called Intermountain Guide Service as soon as we got to the hotel and got a voice mail to leave a message. I asked about the tour times to the Bonneville Salt Flats. I left my number. No one returned my call by the next afternoon. I then logged in to their website and filled out all the information that they asked for. Clicked submit and was answered with a confirmation that my email was received.
I never heard a thing from them. No phone call, no email, nothing. If they are out of business then they should close down their web site.

Brent was a fantastic guide on the off-road tour. We saw wild mustang and learned interesting facts about the area. 10/10 would recommend to all! You get picked up right at the front door of the hotel and it's a very personalized tour.

We are now at Wendover Rainbow, made a reservation of the Salt Flats tour with Bryan today at 1:30pm, the tour van never come, we waited for 40 minutes, called and left message, replied to his email twice... now several hours late, still no response!
I just wonder how much to take a cab to the salt flats outlook, do you have any idea?
Thanks

Have been out to Wendover twice, but it has been 8 years since the last time since they quit flying out of our state. Would love to check out your tours. Do you generally see any wild life on the Salt Flat tours or do I need to take a jeep or ATV tour for that? Do you have any coupons or discounts? Thanks for any info!

I can't imagine much wildlife on the salt flats, Perhaps in the hills surrounding them. We did see the wild mustang horses from afar on the mountain tour. We were there in January. Other times of the year might be more advantageous to wildlife spotting. Just give the tour company a call - they'd be the best people to answer your questions and they're very nice to talk to!

the cost of the tour and the kinds of travel
Carol B
Rosemount, MN29 contribuciones
Prices varied from $25 to $50 per person based on the tour we took. He offers an ATV tour where I think you ride your own vehicle. We're too old for that! So I don't know what it cost. The mountain tour we went on was in a four-wheel drive Suburban (I think) and the airport and salt flat tours were in large vans. I'm sure some of the decision about vehicle depends on the number of people on the tour. We were a group of six and sometimes other people were with us, too. I hope this helps answer your questions. If not give Bryan a call at 1-877-882-4386. There was no hard sell!
