We stayed at the Taura'a hotel next door overlooking the run down rooms of the Kaimana. The restaurant looked quite nice so we tried out a pizza before (not) booking a table for their special Rapa Nui night as suggested by the owner of the Taura'a.
The microwave operative (to use the words cook or chef would be an insult to that profession) took a frozen base, layered it with tinned ham, slices of processed cheese & slices of tomatoe before slightly warming it. On our complaining, each slice was microwaved again, leaving it still tepid but the base with the texture of cardboard. When I suggested that we shouldn't be charged for food we couldn't eat, the response was to add a 5% credit card charge!
