Well situated hotel, about 10 blocks from the shoreline (el malecón), although there's no beach over there.
Situated in a secure are, where you can walk at night, and where you can access some fast food restaurants (Mc Donald's, Wendy's, Pizza Hut) if you wish to.
If desiring some more elaborated food, there's a Tony Roma's at a 10-15 minute walk, just beside the Hilton.
Fitness room is OK, although some more weighs would be needed (there were only 3 of them).
The pool is OK, although you can get some sun only on some afternoon hours.
Hotel restaurant is a bit expensive (and generally desolated), so for the same money you can take a walk and eat a TR's.
The Colonial City (Ciudad Colonial) is at a 10 minute ride (taxi cost approx 200 RD$), and over there you have plenty of dinning opportunities, as some great tourist attractions.
Couple of blocks down the road, you have a pharmacy and a supermarket, where you can get any supplies if needed.
Front desk people is really kind and willing to help on any issue.
Rooms are according to Marriot standards, and a pro, is that you have a good wireless service (free at the lobby).
One tip, try to prevent street side rooms (specially lower floors). Dominicans really like using the car horn, and the hotel is placed on an avenue, so your sleep would not be as nice as it could.
It would be my choice for another business trip (luckily I had a room in the pool's wing, so traffic noise was marginal).
