I am extremely sorry that this reviewer's experience of the Washington was not a wholly positive one - this is not the feedback that any of of the team here would like to hear as as the reviewer points out, every team member is very tuned in to making every guests' stay an enjoyable one. It is also very unusual for any guest to leave here without having had a good stay, a quick glance at previous reviews will attest to that.

I would like to address a couple of the points that this reviewer has brought up. We have fresh bed linen and towels delivered to us on a daily basis. The bath towels are bath sheet size and previous to this review we have only had positive feedback about the quality of the products that are available for guest use. It would appear that in this instance, the quality was not up to the mark, so I have had a conversation with both my House Manager and our laundry supplier to make sure we are being more vigilant in this area.

We are a Grade 2 listed building so are battling the elements a bit with our decor, but we have an ongoing rolling refurbishment so am confident that whilst this room may have been below par, we are addressing any areas where we currently underperform. We do not have a lift in the Guest House so there are a few staircases that need to be tackled, but the staff here are more than willling to help with luggage and will allocate a ground floor room should stairs be a problem for any guest. I would advise any future guests to let us know prior to arrival so we can make the necessary arrangements for you.

We do also have a car park on site which is available for guest use at a small charge. Unfortunately we are unable to control where other locals park on the streets outside our car park, but again, are more than happy to come out and guide any cars in if they are having difficulties.

I would like to, once again, apologise for the stay that this reviewer had - it is clear that in this case we did not exceed their expectations as we would wish to do and for that I am very sorry. I would love the opportunity to talk to you in more detail in person - if you would also like this please call the Guest House and ask for the Manager. I do also hope that any future guests reading this review will take into account the many other more positive reviews that have been posted before making their decision.
