Thank you for taking the time to provide a review in conjunction with your recent visit to the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.

It was great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are sorry, however, that we did not inform you of the Destination Marketing Fee (DMF) at the time of your reservation (it is now included as part of our standard reservation) and were unable to provide you with a better explanation of what the DMF is for.

The DMF was implemented in the Canmore/Kananaskis area and funds the Tourism Canmore Kananaskis marketing activities, capital projects where appropriate, and the creation of new festivals, events and programs in this region. The fees are submitted to the trustee - the Alberta Hotel and Lodging Association - and dispersed by them, pending board approval of the marketing plan and budget. Many major tourism bodies throughout the country have incorporated this program to help keep tourism sustainable (i.e., Victoria, Jasper, Banff, etc.) in their areas.

Again, we apologize for not providing you with the proper information relating to the DMF and hope that this explanation helps you to understand what your funds are contributing to.
