Cuando llegamos habíamos reservado una habitación con dos beded. Llegamos a nuestra habitación para descubrir que era una cama king. que estaban contentos de lo arreglase su error. Hay un estanque detrás del hotel, que está lleno de ranas que croaked toda la noche, y nos montamos en la piscina. El buffet de por la mañana no era muy grande, pero era aceptable por el precio que pagué por la habitación.

Nos alojamos aquí el pasado verano y quedamos muy contentos! La habitación estaba limpia, el personal era muy educado. El desayuno continental era bueno y reciente. La piscina estaba limpia. El precio era muy razonable. Me volvería a alojar aquí de nuevo!

Well, I truly have absolutely no idea who this person is. I never spoke to this person and they definitely never spoke to me, and I certainly never said anything to anyone ever about a wheel barrel to move things. So they are ,plain and simple, lying about that from the very start. I do find it interesting that they referenced the previous guest ( given the tone of this comment I would not be surprised at all if they never even stayed here but were just asked to write this review by the previous guest) , and then stated that my friends must have written prior reviews.

But honestly, I genuinely hope that the people writing the reviews on this site are my friends, because I strive to make friends with all my guests. Had they taken the time to even try to meet me they would have probably had that same experience. The vast majority of people that stay here find that my staff and I always treat people with the utmost respect and most of them leave with the feeling that they want to come back. It seems that it is only the people that don't get a free room that write negative comments about us or out right make up lies about me or my staff, as in this case, almost as if they want to take the attitude, I will show them. And that is frankly just sad.

I will say right now to everyone that reads this response that my staff and I will do everything possible to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and if you have an issue while staying here (that is within our control) we will either resolve the issue or we will give you your money back! We will not, however, resolve the issue and give you your money back. And we will not just arbitrarily give free rooms or even discounts if you do not give us the opportunity to correct the issue. All we ask is that if you experience a problem of some kind that you tell us so we can try and resolve it. If you just come to the desk at check out and tell us "Oh, by the way my room was dirty and dusty and was completely unacceptable, but you stayed in it all night and didn't tell us or give us the chance to either clean it or relocate you then we are not going to just give you a discount. You as consumers also have a responsibility to us. You need to tell us if something is wrong.

I am not saying we have a perfect hotel. We are on the beach and we are 9 years old now. There are going to be minor issues at any hotel that age. But my rooms are clean, my staff and I are friendly and we genuinly do everything we can to help our guests have a great time while they are here.

The real issue here is that there are always going to be people that feel entitled. That want us to break policy for them because they feel the world owes them something, and they expect us to just do whatever they want us to do. They think they can just demand that we give them a discount or a free room. They forget that this is a business. We have other guests and we have been doing this a long time. We know when someone is just trying to get something for nothing and honestly, more often than not we give it to them. If there is any redeeming value to a guest's concern I always give them the benefit of the doubt. But there are times when I just have to say no.

The bottom line is that this guest is simply making things up. They seem to go out of their way to mention that they do not know the previous guest, which given the comments they wrote is highly unlikely. The simple truth is that I never even spoke to this guest, and they never voiced any concerns to me or my staff about any of the items listed in their comment. They also obviously never spoke to the city about the water pressure, or at least not to the water department, if they had they would have been told about the drop in pressure. So, I will leave it to the guest (or reader) to make their own determination as to who is telling the truth here. It is often difficult to respond to reviews like this without sounding like you
are making excuses, and also without offending the person that wrote the review
in the first place. The simple truth is that the guest that wrote this review
was perhaps the rudest guest I have ever encountered. She was not only
demanding but simply refused to listen to anything or anyone. I tried
desperately to explain to her what the real issue was but she refused to let me
even get one syllable out. Frankly she was nothing more than a bully and in my
opinion just wanted a free room and seemed willing to do whatever it took to get
one. I always strive to resolve any issues that guests bring to my attention,
even ones that are not our fault. And, I really just hate to say anything
negative about anyone, especially guests that stay at our hotel. I want all my
guests to have a good stay. But, she called down to the desk and actually
demanded, that I must drop what I was doing no matter what it was to go to her
room. Well, I could not drop what I was doing, but I called her anyway but she
did not answer. Then when she called me back she demanded a free room because
her shower had no pressure. She absolutely refused to let me explain to her why
the pressure was low. The reality of the situation is that the city of Carolina
Beach has done a lot of building in the area and the pressure going into the
hotel has dropped to the point where the pressure going to the rooms on the
third floor has been effected. The pressure is still adequate but it is not
what you would consider a high pressure shower. We are working with the city
now to get the pressure up and expect to have it resolved in the near future.
However, since she refused to let me talk she has no idea about the real issue.
The bottom line is that it was not our fault. We cannot just demand that the
city give us more pressure, but we are in the process of resolving it. Since
she used the room all night, and since it was not our fault, we did not give her
a free room but I offered to move her to another room, which she reluctantly
agreed to. I actually checked the pressure in her room and while it was a bit
lower than I would like, it was, in my opinion and the maintenance person's
opinion, adequate to take a shower. But in just a few minutes of being moved to a new
room, she again called down screaming that the new room was too hot and
unacceptable. I personally went to the room and saw that the AC was off. By
the way, it was 85 degrees outside. I simply turned on the air and it was cool
in ten minutes. Again she would not listen when we told her she just needed to
turn the AC on. She then barged into my office, while I was in the middle of
working on an important task and demanded the name of my owner. Which I refused to give her because frankly she was extremely rude and belligerent and I was not going to have a belligerent person call the owner under these circumstances. I actually had to tell her that if I heard any more from her I was going to call the police and have her removed from the hotel. I
did notify the owner of the situation and he was in full agreement with my resolution to the issue. A little while later she came down and started telling guests checking in at the desk ( I was standing right there and asked her to stop) that they should not stay here...all because I would not give her a free room. I was in no way rude, unless you consider my telling
her that she is not listening to me, to be rude. I truly believe that this
guest was bound and determined to find some reason to get a free room and if she
had perfect water pressure she would have found some other reason to complain
about. We all know that you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try,
but there was simply no way that anyone would have been able to please this
woman. It is as simple as that. All that being said it was an unfortunate
situation for everyone. I had a desk clerk that was almost in tears from the
harassment she endured at the hands of this guest, two guests that had their
stay marred by the rants of this guest, and of course the fact that the guest
herself had a bad experience, even if it was by her own hand. All in all not
the type of situation we want our guests to experience here.
