I am sorry for your misfortune prior to your vacation. We are a very small family run inn and we do not overbook as larger hotels and resorts will do to plan for cancellations. Our cancellation policy states that a refund WILL be made for personal emergencies if we are able to re-rent the accommodations for each night that it was originally reserved. The cancellation policy is reviewed at the time of reservation and available on the website.

The Laurel Place, almost 4,000 sq ft, is a 5 bedroom w/ 3 full baths for which their group paid $44 per person/per night. What is not mentioned, is it has a huge kitchen, 2 large living areas, library, game room w/pool table, spacious outdoor decks, 7ft hot tub w' furnished screen porch, dog kennelsw/ runs. The hot tub's santiation system and temperate is monitored by our staff. We control the temperature at 100 to 102 degrees which can be safely enjoyed by most persons. Any hotter could cause a problem for children, elderly, or health compromised adults. We do NOT advertise, 3 TVs nor air conditioning. The previous guest had disconnected the cable to hook up VCRs. Easy fix. We are located at 2600 ft elevation, nestled in 4000 ft mountains. The differential between day and night temps is normally great. Weather records indicate that the first day of their stay was 90 (10 degrees over the average), and cooling to 80 on the second. Night time low was 60, and 70. But what was uncomfortable was the humidity which was 100% to 87%. We reduce the housedhold humidity with de-humidifiers, and provide fans for each room. The house which sets on a bluff, is properly described as 'overlooking' the river. As pictured on the website, you could stand in the front yard by the stone column, pitch a stone and hit the river. This people may have objections to this property, but they are clearly wrong to accuse us of mis-representing the Laurel Place in its listing.
