We appreciate hearing from our guests, and while I'm glad that this traveler found many things to like about our hotel, I'm concerned that their impression of their guest room did not live up to the expectation created by so many other positive reviews of our accommodations. I'm very glad that they that they found our service, lobby, lounge, and numerous complimentary amenities to their liking and I'm confident that by reaching out to this guest, which I have done, we will be able to renew their trust for their next visit to Madison.

One of their major areas of concern was our bathrooms, most notably their smaller size. This is an issue we are aware of, but one that is inherent in a historic property such as ours. We are currently taking steps to resolve this situation, and are in the process of scheduling a renovation for our smaller bathrooms, in order to make them significantly roomier. Regarding the condition of their mattress - although our pillow-top mattresses are occasionally noted as "too soft" for some guests, - we will however, replace the mattresses in our rooms if they are found to not be in top condition and I have directed our staff to do so in this case - we want nothing less than for our guests to get a good night's sleep!

Regarding the sounds they were able to hear from their neighbors, this is an unusual concern, but one that we can address if brought to our attention during a stay. The guest may have been located next to a guest that was exceptionally noisy, and we would have been happy to address this in an appropriate manner, had we been made aware.

I am sorry that our complimentary offerings in the Chancellor's Club did not meet their needs. We normally receive great comments regarding the generous plate of local cheese curds and summer sausage, offered with our guests' beverages. It appears that this guest likely stayed with us during one of our busiest football weekends of the year, and it seems that we came close to running out of our regular desserts, which consist of a variety of mini-cheesecakes which are always well-received by our guests.

As I indicated above, I have contacted this guest to directly offer my apologies for the issues they encountered, and hope that they will return for a better experience and will trust that we have addressed the items that were brought to our attention.
