Well Me and my mum stayed here early Feb for a week and didn't want to go home..
I don't know where to start really but we stayed all inclusive and although I have coeliac disease and it's difficult for me and the staff dealing with my food, I was given a fabulous service from everybody concerned from reception, chefs, waiters, maids, shop manager manager and the owner. The only moody person that we met in all our stay was the lady who worked in the pool bar... never smiled but everybody else did so that was what mattered.... she didn't seem too impressed with the amount of tequilas we ordered at 2pm one afternoon!!! but they went down well.... I wore our all inclusive bracelet on our room key instead of my wrist as I don't like that, and Reception allowed that. No problem.
NOthing was too much trouble for them and this really made my stay here special because having this problem can be embarrasing but I wasn't made to feel silly at all or that I was a pain in the backside!!!!
We had room 752 and when we go back we will stay there again. It was on the corner of the complex away from the main pool and pool bar so it was very quiet during the day and because it was also away from the main bar, it was also quiet in the nightime too which was perfect. And we had a room that overlooked the facilities instead of a room overlooking the road which I had requested through Sunshine.co.uk and we had what we asked for on arrival.
The rooms are perfect and great for self catering but also we were all inclusive so had the best of it all really. Didn't go in the pool as it's not heated unfortunately and understandably is expensive to run all the time, but I did ask for it to be turned on when we go back so hopefuly it will !!!
Regarding the owner Uri and the Manager Pedro... wonderful, fabulous gentlemen who were very funny and very kind and helpful... We wanted to extend our stay for another few days and they did everything they could especially Pedro to help us and really went out of his way and beyond his role to help in all ways... he was on the internet a lot of time for us looking for alternative flights and he even did us a huge favour and drove us to the airport to help us extend our ticket which unfortunately we couldn't as it was working out too expensive, but again, nothing was too much trouble and he was fantastic... it was just a shame that after all his hard work we couldn't stay... But we are going to go back either later this year or next Jan/Feb again. We hope our friends we met there DAvid and Susan will be there when we go so need to arrange that this is the case when we go to visit them up North in the summer time!
The location is very peaceful and only a 5 minute walk to the seafront where you have Playa Dorada beach and some bars and a shop or two... If you turn right, and go past the Yaiza 5 star hotel you will walk along and come to the main centre of Playa Blanca in about 10 mins if you walk along the seafront it's a lovely scenic way of getting there on foot... If you turn left you will arrive at Marina Rubicon in about 15 minutes which is wonderful and the market on Wednesday is well worth going to... me and mum walked about, drank Cava in the sun, tried some vino of Lanzarote that a man gave us to taste!! And then we continued to drink in the sun on some steps watching the world go by wishing we didn't have to go home.
My mum fell of the electronic Toro in Marina Rubican but Joanna from Venezuala was wonderful giving her bandages, cream and painkillers before we had to trel to Arrecife hospital to get her hand xrayed... but the alcohol helped to numb the pain for the rest of the holiday... luckily nothing broken!
Go to the bar near the bull and the bouncy thing where there are 2 parrots called LUna and DAniel.. so funny!!!
The food we ate in restaurants was great too but sorry can't remember their names.
All in all the week was fantastic and can't wait to rebook.
Pedro and Uri, gracias por tu ayudarte caballeros!!! Muy amable y hasta pronto si??!!! One day, I'm going to buy one of the apartments from you and Uri you can advise me!!!!
Besos,
Kelly and Pat
