This is a tiny studio in a block of residential flats. On arrival, after a long hot day of bus travel, we couldn't find the studio or the owner. Some very helpful locals eventually found a contact number for us, but the owner was not willing to come and let us in as he said he was expecting us at 11am! No arrival time had been arranged. Eventually he agreed to send his son to let us in. First impressions were quite positive as it looked clean. We made the bed (!) and as we were very tired and dusty from the journey, decided to take a shower. This was when we started to notice the 'quirks' - the shower head didn't fit hose; the toilet wouldn't flush properly; there was no hot water connected to the tap in the poorly equipped kitchen; no sink plugs or bowl to wash up in; the balcony table was broken in 2 and the balcony itself overwhelmed with old furniture and a tree. Oh and when we tried to move the dining table, the leg fell off.
Fortunately, Kalamata is an excellent base... más
