We had a lovely time clay pigeon shooting - my partner is hooked and wants to take it up now. George was very knowledgeable and a very good teacher and contributed in large to our great experience. We would definitely recommend for anyone in the area keen to do some clay pigeon shooting!

I was looking for an activity that my whole family could experience TOGETHER (inc 3 teenage boys 16/19/21, mum & dad). I kept it a surprise and so travelling along the long bumpy lane into what felt like the depths of the Sussex countryside all added to the excitement for us all. Using the radio/phone to let you know we had arrived at the car park ready for collection all added to the mystery. As we approached the check in area we were really impressed by the professional set up, which was bigger that I had expected with different activity stations all around. We were met with a friendly greeting and settled in with a cup of tea before we were taken by Martin to the shooting area to receive our short instruction about gun handling safely and then we were each having a go, being guided by our instructor. Chatting to Martin we learnt he had over 20 years experience of shooting which allowed him to be a very good teacher. He was clear in his instruction, patient with our mistakes and encouraging to show us how to improve. The clays were deployed from various locations/ speeds and heights and so just when you thought you had mastered one shooting style you were given a new challenge. We purchased a 35 clay package which included a competition at the end, (which my family loved & we even had Martin joining in with the healthy family rivalry & banter in the end too) We all left laughing and joking with everyone re-living their good and bad shots. I cannot recommend this activity highly enough, it was such good fun, especially if you are a mum looking for something to do as 'a family' because we ALL took part, and we ALL enjoyed it. What a great experience, one we are still talking about and I am sure will continue talking about long into the future.

The whole experience was a very positive one. We had initially booked a couple of weeks ago but my hubby was poorly and had to go into hospital and very kindly we were allowed to re-schedule- so thanks very much for that. The instructors were all really good, I was actually quite scared but they were so calm and re-assuring. The instructions were clear and informative and because of this I was able to hit quite a few clays - I had not really anticipated hitting any at all - so that was a huge bonus. The addition of a welcome coffee/tea was lovely and set us up for our morning beautifully. We were lucky with the weather, grey but not windy or wet, and relatively mild for the time of year. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this activity - give it a go - you will enjoy it!

Myself and my Wife have been to Polowood on a few occasions over the years, and always had a good experience. The guidance given on how to handle to weapon, aim etc is top-notch and delivered in a personable, understandable way. My Wife loves the clay pigeon shooting!
I was recently disappointed however, that Polowood was not able to exercise a little discretion when I bought my Wife a Birthday present of a £75 voucher back in December. My Wife's birthday is right at the beginning of January and naturally the weather was not conducive to go shooting and so we waited until it was, but given the state of our summer by the time we got to book, the voucher had just expired
I asked for an extension but was only offered two dates, both weekdays in the morning, which we couldn't take given we both work (which is how I afforded the gift voucher in the first place)
So my advice is, go to Polowood. It is brilliant and very professionally run, but don't buy a gift voucher in the winter and if you get one, be aware that they expire after six months
I suppose, on the plus side, at least they saved on ammo. We're not particularly good shots! :-)

As you stated above you were offered two dates after the gift voucher had expired. So sorry that you were unable to take up one of the extended dates that were offered to you. Your gift voucher was valid for six months and then extended by two weeks as a gesture of goodwill.
I feel that we have dealt with you fairly and am disappointed that you felt it necessary to leave us a poor review.

While on a family trip from Northern Ireland we decided to book a slot for clay pigeon shooting. We were not disappointed, from the moment we arrived we were greeted by Gary and made to feel very welcome by all. My 15year old son and myself were complete novices and our instructor took so much time with us. He was very friendly and patient and gave us lots of handy tips so we could make the most of the time we had there. Thank you all so much for a brilliant afternoon.

I had an experience bought for me by family members, once I had booked the communication was brilliant and to the point.
On the day of the experience I found the whole set up to be brilliant with great instructors and facilities. Whilst I was there I felt safe and very welcome.
I would highly recommend and would like to say a big thank you to Gary, Paula and all of the team as even though I was a solo experience I wasn't made to feel that.
I apologise to any of the instructors I had forgotten but you are credit to the organisation.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for any event.

Amazing staff, so friendly and helpful. Make you feel very welcome and always happy to help you out, great spot in country side with Axe Throwing, Clay Pigeon shooting and archery. ( and more) would defo recommend to anyone looking for a good outdoor activity. Great in summer but they are open all year round, great family run business.

We were in the area and the company organised a half day “other activities” to round off the previous day of conferences.
Option No 1 for me was the chance to randomly throw lead shot in the air and hope that it intersected with a Clay Pigeon😀
Overall a serious 5 stars! Some of us had shot before and it may have gotten a bit competitive. Others had not but had a good time. Including one nervous shooter that powdered multiple Rabbit Clays👌
Arrival
You are directed to a shared green area where you park up and are then taken by minibus to the site. Take it easy on the track leading up to the green area. It is a narrow lane with varying levels of potholes. Keep your speed down and choose your line and you will be fine.
At the centre you will be given a coffee/tea and asked to sign in.
Covid rules and preventative measures are in place so no worries there. There are also toilet facilities available.
You are taken to your stand and the fun begins.
Shooting
You are given a safety brief and told how things will unfold.
You are supervised at all times when on the firing point and the instructors are obviously well versed in helping out when you may be making a mistake.
We were a fairly large group but they rotated us through the 4 stances efficiently.
It was a lovely day so the opportunity to socialise was taken up in the short down times between shooting.
Little competition at the end to round it off.
Weather.
It is an outdoor sport so remember the old saying “no such thing as the wrong type of weather, just the wrong type of clothes.”
Check the weather before you go and be prepared should the UK weather surprise you!
Check the website out, it gives plenty of advice

Bought a clay pigeon experience for my brother and myself, both complete novices, thoroughly enjoyed the time. Our instructor Bernie was very knowledgeable in the sport, but at the same time made the learning fun.
I had been doing a lot of work in my garden, and had a bit of a "twingy" back, so found the recoil on the gun uncomfortable and although I tried I couldn't actually do the shooting, however, still enjoyed the time and the information about the sport. I was advised that if they had known, there was a lighter gun I could have used.
Will certainly book again, mention the lighter gun, or try one of the other sports available. The whole team was very professional and friendly and the set up on the farm well worth a visit.

Absolutely brilliant what a day we all had.
We were a group of 12 and at no point did we feel like anything was too much both the instructors were amazing and really helpful and informative.
Was made so much fun as they are able to tailor the session to us and really make it a fun and enjoyable time.
