Henry put together the perfect bike excursion for our family. My wife, my young teenage daughter and I followed Henry on a day-long trip out of Heidelberg, along the Neckar river, through the countryside, visiting Roman historic sites (eg, site of the first Roman bridge). We bought and ate fresh strawberries and blueberries from nearby farms and had a scrumptious noon meal at a restaurant in Ladenburg. On our return to Heidelberg, Henry took us on a different path through micro farms. The home of Carl Benz and more. The best part, though, was Henry himself. He has a kind, warm and uplifting spirit, which we got to enjoy the whole day. Being with him was a real pleasure and we recommend him very highly.

A quiet ride through farmlands from the HBF to Ladenburg. Learned of the Roman presence, as it was an official City of the Roman Empire. Also, this was the place where Carl Benz built his first automobile in 1884.

Ende Februar, an einem sehr sonnigen Tag hat und Henry live, per Zoom, durch Ladenburg geführt. Wir haben auf der gut strukturierten etwa einstündigen Tour viel über Ladenburg zur Zeit der Römer und Ladenburg im Zusammenhang mit Carl Benz erfahren. Zudem konnten wir viele idyllische Stellen dieses kleinen Ortes kennenlernen. Alles in allem eine großartige Tour und ein schönes Geburtstagsgeschenk!

We arrived into the historic town of Heidelberg and after brunch met up with Henry for the 4 hr bike tour to Laudenburg. Henry's funny, engaging, and likeable disposition kept us interested and involved the entire time. The fall foliage and beautiful landscape made it a truly memorable experience. Defintely a must do with Henry if you're in the Heidelberg area. Thanks again Henry we had a wonderful time.

Trotz schlechtem Wetter, hat Henry nicht aufgegeben mir die Sehenswürdigkeiten von Heidelberg und Ladenburg zu zeigen. Das Tempo der Radtour war angemessen und ich konnte zwischendrin meine Englischkenntnisse verbessern =)
Zwischendrin haben wir kurz an einem Bauerhof gehalten. Dort wurde für das Picknick noch schnell Kirschen und Erdbeeren besorgt. Beim Picknick überraschte Henry mit einem leckeren selbstgebackenen Bananenbrot!
Diese Tour hat meine Vorstellungen übertroffen.
Zwischendrin haben wir kurz an einem Bauerhof gehalten. Dort wurde für das Picknick noch schnell Kirschen und Erdbeeren besorgt. Beim Picknick überraschte Henry mit einem leckeren selbstgebackenen Bananenbrot!
Diese Tour hat meine Vorstellungen übertroffen.

We arrived in Heidelberg having spent a long day traveling and Henry’s bike tour was the perfect way to stretch our legs and dust off that travel feeling... We were a little hesitant as the weather was cold and as it was December and the days were shorter however all our worries were to be soon put to sleep as this bike talk went from strength to strength. Filled with picturesque views and wonderful scenery, the highlight of the trip was the beautiful castle lit up in all its splendour (I couldn’t help but include a picture below as it was so beautiful). It was the perfect pace, we didn’t feel we were being rushed and never felt the need to hurry Henry on. Henry himself was extremely friendly and easygoing with a vast wealth of knowledge of the town and surrounding area whixh was complemented by his witty humor. I would recommend this to any keen sightseers interested in exploring a wonderful city.

The bicycle tour from Heidelberg to Ladenburg is really great! You cycle almost all the time along the river without any cars on the path and can relax totally and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful landscape. Henry even provides to make a stop for swimming in the river, my boyfriend loved it! Ladenburg is a very special quaint place, Henry can tell you interesting things about its history and show you where to get some delicious ice cream ;). Very recommendable trip!

I did this tour with some business friends. Henry Cottam was an exceptionally good tour guide. The tour was excellently prepared. Henry passed on sound knowledge in a very humorous way. Nice anecdotes loosened the tour again and again and always made for a good mood. The tour is highly recommended.

Being of slightly advanced years I was somewhat in trepidation about this bicycle tour fearing the strain of hills and worry of holding others back. But my concerns were totally unfounded as Henry the superb English tour guide made me fell completely at ease at all times and kept giving me encouragement and a helping hand whenever needed.
All in all a really enjoyable, thorougly recommended and first class tour - thank you Henry.

Thanks for your review & it was a great pleasure to have you on the bicycle tour. As you now know the route is all flat so there was no need to worry about your fitness level, although I personally thought you looked in great condition. But, as you can see this tour is easily manageable for all ages and is designed to be fun for everyone.

I work in the travel industry - I work with many vendors- and booking a bike tour with Henry him I would not recommend. He is located a big distance from town with no pick up as his web site states. Two days before, as I was traveling , he was still making changes to the reservation. The meeting point changed as did an extra charge for each bike that he decided to tack on. I do not think he had the bikes available. Then 2 days before we were to meet him the reservation was canceled and he stated in an email to me that he was no longer available too do the outing. He is new to Viator and Viator has been notified as has trip advisor. I would look elsewhere when booking any tour with hm.

Thankyou for your review and let me also say that it was a disappointment to me too that your tour did not take place. I was indeed well prepared for your tour and had made special checks with my bicycle supplier that he had the 10 required adult & children's bikes. I was all set to go.
But basic fact of the matter is that TripAdvisor themselves set me an e.mail 2 days before your tour informing me that it was cancelled. It was then at this point that I made alternative plans.
I am very sorry that you did not get to enjoy this tour but I am very clear that the error lies with Tripadvisor and not myself.
Ps; i fully intend to clarify this matter with Tripadvisor who I hope will provide you with further explanations as to what happened exactly.
