Great tour and tour guide, he (Hemar?) was awesome. Would recommend to any family wanting to see some of Iceland in a fun, informative and cool way.

Kristjan picked us up at our hotel in Old Town in a super comfortable 4x4, and deftly navigated the snowy streets of Reykjavik as we made our way out of the city. Our ride along the Golden Circle was warm, comfortable, and informative, as we engaged in an easy conversation about…well, everything. Kristjan has been conducting tours for over 30 years - before it was as cool of a destination for tourists. He’s seen so much change in that time, and has so much experience taking people all over Iceland in so many different ways, he’s a trove of information. He is the authentic tour guide. Seasoned. Experienced. Prepared. Easy to talk with. Excellent advice in navigating our stops.
On the unpaved road to Langjökull, when the snow got deep, a souped-up Sprinter from another tour got stuck in the snow. Kristjan was able to go around them, off road, in fresh snow, to get us back on track again. I felt very safe, that his vehicle could get us anywhere we wanted to be!
We had the very best time on this private tour. Sure, it can be fun to be with other travelers in larger tours and associate with other foreigners as you make new discoveries - the downside is that your experiences are standard, not unique, and you a can become lost within a sea of people. This tour was pricier than others, yet we absolutely got 10X return on our investment with the special experience of personal service that we enjoyed together as a family.
He has made custom trips as well, and when we return, we are definitely going to work with Kristjan again.

Do not go to Iceland without first booking Mountain Taxi - Iceland!! It is the only way to see Iceland, the drivers are very friendly and helpful. They were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They kept a close eye on the weather to ensure that we did not miss any planned activities and were very flexible in adapting their service to our needs. I cannot recommend them enough. A absolute not to be missed experience, the whole day was fabulous, sights, informative and exhilarating. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Just Wow!!

I am from Florida. My wife and I went to Iceland for our honeymoon. the driver was very professional. The price is quite high, but it is worth it! Customer service is excellent and vehicle can handle the land plus super comfortable. Tour guides are experienced natives and they can get you in places and get you a much better experience than renting a car or using the cheap bus tours. You tell them what you want and they do it, vs the group tours you do there agenda on there time. Not as fun. for those that have never been to Iceland, it is fun and worth going but be forewarned that iceland imports most food and goods. so naturally most stuff is expensive!!!$$$$

We booked a private tour of the golden circle and we had the best day ever. Arriving on time, Gisli gave us an exceptional day taking us around all of the sites, plus the crater whilst also navigating us to the glacier for our skidoo experience (which is a must). Gisli is an absolute legend, his knowledge and pride of his country is second to none. Visiting the golden circle is an experience in itself (and highly recommended), but Gisli made our day unforgettable. Would highly recommend Mountain Taxi and will be booking again for further tours across Iceland with Gisli.

Excellent trip today and a fine guide who knew all there was to know. A highly recommended tour of some of the finest sites including a dramatic spin on the glacier!

We enjoyed a great day doing a private tour in an amazing super jeep - the driver was informative and fun.
The experience was well worth doing.
My only negative comment would be we did the added extra of snowmobiling - which Mountain taxi outsource to another company ( same one used by all super jeep tours as far as we could tell). The snowmobiling had far too many people doing it - about 25 snowmobiles so it was just a long slow line- very stop start doing figures of 8.

We just finished a private Superjeep tour of the Golden Circle and the mountain off-roading guided by Kristjan, who is the best off-road driver and knows everything about Iceland. We have seen views that are hard to believe and we had never known existed in the world. Being able to go on the roads unpassable by a regular vehicle, riding in a Superjeep with Kristjan was a pleasant drive. We are a family of five and fit comfortably in the vehicle. Kristjan is the best driver you'd wish to have on a trip like that. And he's a super nice guy too! Definitely recommending to everyone. 5 Stars!!
