So much better than large group tour. Our guide, Hannes, was able to customize the tour around what we had already seen and showed us many things we never would have found in a tour book or online. He was extremely knowledgeable of the history and able to answer all our questions. Highly recommend

Our guide Walter was very knowledgeable and showed us the main attractions in Vienna. He met us at our hotel. The tour ran for 3 hours in which we walked, rode the underground, trained and caught the tram. We discovered that the 2hour pass that we purchased at the station covers all public transport, good to know. Our guide explained Austria’s history and architecture in depth and in a witty and unbiased way. Recommend.

We were on a Viking river cruise that spent two days in Vienna. On the first day we had an included Viking tour that included the most popular tourist destinations. For the second day we wanted a different experience and with a private guide. We found Walter Schindl on TripAdvisor. His reviews were glowing and I liked the sound of his Hidden Gems Tour. In communicating with Walter before the cruise, he was very aware of where we would be going on the Viking tour and told us that he would show us different places. He certainly did! We just loved the tour.
He uses public transportation, which is awesome in Vienna, to get us to different parts of town, rather than driving a van. It makes his tour more reasonably priced and saves time, since the traffic can be congested. It worked out very well.
Walter is just a gem! He is such a pleasure to be with and is a wealth of knowledge. He knew not to repeat all the history of Austria that we had previously heard on other tours. He gave us information that was relevant to where we visited and about living in Vienna. I wish that we had booked a longer tour, so we could have spent more time with him, but we had a different tour we were doing in the afternoon. I have been with many private guides over the years. Walter is certainly one of the most enjoyable we have used. I can't recommend him more highly. You will be glad you booked him.

We really enjoyed this tour! Alexander was an incredibly knowledgeable and personable guide. The historical context and perspective he provided brought the landmarks to life. The tour served as a great starting point to exploring the beautiful city of Vienna! Highly recommend touring with Alexander!

We were exhausted after days of touring Prague and nearly cancelled the tour but thankfully we didn’t !! Alexander’s pace, knowledge and recommendations for our short visit in Vienna was absolutely perfect. We felt like we got the grand tour of this amazing city and it left us wanting to come back for more !! Great tour for a lovely introduction to Vienna. Can’t recommend enough !

Walter was a great guide. Engaged, interesting and full of humour. At the start he asked what kinds of things we were interested in and he then planned a trip on foot around that.

Our tours are “all private” – we therefore love to share our guests interests and ovoid overlap.
Sure, our tours are “best practice” based, flexible within the timeframe.

We loved our morning tour with Hannes! He provided a great introduction to the city of Vienna, from the Imperial history to World War II. We began by taking the subway to Belvedere and headed back to the Hofburg Palace.

This was easily one of the best tours I have ever had the privilege of taking. Andrea is nothing short of an expert on Austrian history. Her knowledge, delivery, humor, and enthusiasm made for a very informative and engaging tour. I learned so much I developed a sincere love for the city. Absolutely take this tour with Andrea.

Walter is very knowledgeable. He is affable and efficient. His outdated quips (jokes that belittle women) could have been omitted from the tour and there would have been far less wincing from all parties present.
We appreciated stopping at a charming cafe for a quick cup of coffee and pastry and bathroom break part way through the walk.
