It was a great adventure! Beautiful scenery and it was very neat to see all the fog on the trail. Jimmy was a great guide and let me borrow some gloves for the slippery areas to better hold onto the railing. Highly recommend bringing shoes with good grip and a rain jacket (and something to give the cats & dogs to eat that live on the mountain. Wish I could have taken them home with me).

It was a wonderful sunny day with Mr Chance Kim on our hike to Bukhansan Peak in Nov 2022. My husband and I and my teenage son were led by Mr Chance who allowed us to move along at our own pace, and never hurried us. The lunch snack Gimbap was healthy and delicious. We took the easy route up. We had minimal experience in hiking... my husband and son managed to make it to the top within time. I had poorer stamina, so Chance allowed me to take a break at the resting hut midway, which I appreciated. He gave us good climbing advice as we went along and was a cheerful host at all times. His command of English is excellent and we would highly recommend him to anyone who wishes to climb Bukhansan.

Kim was a very personable guide on our hike yesterday! He let us go at our own pace and the views were definitely spectacular. Highly recommended for those who seek a little adventure in Seoul and for avid hikers. Also recommend wearing proper hiking attire (hiking gloves) and bringing trekking poles as this may make the hike a little easier.

We had the private tour with Sophia which is a wonderful guide! We had a very nice and beautiful tour and Sophia was focused on our needs and speed. We enjoyed the time very much and can recommend the hiking for everybody else even for beginners 😊

I've done this hiking with my 8 years old kid and we both love it. Our guide (Sophia) is very knowledgeable and helpful. Speaks decent English. She was able to establish good rapport with my kid and my daughter enjoyed her company.
The track is amazing during autumn time, beautiful scenery. Although last 200 meters before the top is advanced level hiking and I would recommend to select more easier route for small kids.

A challenging, but very rewarding hike! Chance was very friendly and knowledgable. We had a group that had a wide range of experience levels ranging from pretty experienced, down to really inexperienced, and he was able to help us navigate the hike safely.
A few words of advice -- the trail isn't easy, and will definitely get your heart pumping, but it is doable if you take your time. Also, I cannot stress this enough: wear shoes that have actual grip! You don't have to have hiking boots, but at least wear sneakers that have good grip/traction!!

My hike with Jimmy was a great experience! Jimmy was very nice to provide me with gloves and sticks (contrary to what the operator told me, I would recommend to use gloves and sticks). Although I was a bit afraid of the last part of the hike, I felt safe thanks to Jimmy's instructions. I will definitely have another tour with him if I come back to Seoul! Merci!

Actually most of Korean do not bring the poles for this hiking course cuz the peak part and most of the pass is quite steep so It could not be easy to use sticks for the hikers who are not used to use them.

I'm not terribly out of shape but I also don't hike very often. This hike whooped my butt! I don't particularly mind it, though. That comes with the territory. Chance Kim was a fun guide. He was nice and quite talkative. I'm not good at keeping conversation so it was nice that he is. Lots of great conversations we had and he was also very smart and helpful about the hike. I hiked in January and it was very cold and pretty icy. He was able to make sure that I, as an inexperienced hiker, could traverse the steep icy parts relatively easily and safely. Would highly recommend this hike to anyone who likes exercise and the outdoors.

Price for solo traveller is a bit expensive. It is worth it! This tour includes hotel pickup, drop off and lunch. My Mountain expert buddy is Ms Sophia Kim. Very lovely lady and speak decent English. Journey from my hotel to Bukhansan park was about an hour. The hike up to Baegundae peak takes about 1.5-2hours (one way) including breaks.
As a beginner climber, Ms Sophia was very helpful to constantly ensure my safety and guide me throughout. She also packed some snacks for me during our breaks - Korean pears and nuts for energy boaster. Our lunch was Gimbap - we had it at the peak. Resting at the peak with many people and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Very grateful to have such a lovely and friendly guide like Ms Sophia; weather was excellent for climbing and enjoying the scenery.

Guide communicated extremely well before pickup. Jimmy was an expert at the trails and knew where to go, good photo spots and have helpful tips at each part of the trails. He came equipped with food, water and other essentials to make the hike great. The views were stunning and Jimmy was fantastic the whole way through. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to hike at Bukhansan national park.

Hi. I’m interested in the hike. However, I didn’t initially plan to do the hike so didn’t bring my walking boots. I have a pair of running shoes. Will this be sufficient. My fitness level is reasonable - quite used to hiking - did a hike in Nepal in April this year. Please advise re the walking shoes. Thanks.

I did it in running shoes, granted mine were trail running shoes (better tread) but it was fine. I will agree with others though, it is quite rocky terrain. Let Chase know, he may be able to adjust which route you take.

Hi. We saw many groups of people hiking Bukansan so I guess you could just follow the crowd? The Koreans are really friendly and can give u directions too. I don’t remember seeing many signages on the way though.
