An enjoyable progressive dinner!
feb. de 2020
Our tour guide, Hai, picked us up from our hotel in a hotel shuttle and took us to the edge of the old town in Son Phong area, for our first taste of the local food. The first was a street vendor with Banh Khot, a tiny egg pancake filled with shrimp, served with greens and pieces of pork. The next stop was in Tan An, in a lane where the modest little restaurant served Banh Beo, steamed rice cakes with shrimp paste and topped with strips of fried pork skin. Another street vendor, in Minh An opposite the the Catholic church, sold us Che Me Den - Black Sesame soup - a strange, sweet, but unattractive cold dessert. Then in Cam Pho we we stopped for Cao Lau, Hoi An's signature dish - fat rice noodles, slices of barbecued pork, pork crackling, bean shoots, greens and soup stock. These noodles must be made with water from the Ba Le Well, the town's original water supply, which Hai also took us to see. After a walk through Tran Phu street, the main street full of interesting temples, shops and old houses, we stopped briefly at the market for some White Rose dumplings and something that looked like Vietnamese style nachos. Eventually we ended up at another small family restaurant not far from the Japanese Bridge that served what Hai called Vietnamese pizza! It was really Banh Trang Nuong, a rice paper circle covered in quail egg, dried shrimp, ground pork and spring onions, then topped with greens, chili, cucumber, sprouts or whatever, rolled up and dipped in fish sauce. It was a long and very filling 'progressive dinner' and a great experience to do when visiting Hoi An. We would never have discovered some of these places and dishes if it wasn't for Hai's guidance.

Delicious!!
Had a great evening on the Hoi An street food tour with our guide, Hai! The food was delicious and we went to places that we would never have been able to find and experience by ourselves! Hai explained the history of the different dishes, which was very interesting. We only had a small lunch beforehand and would recommend that others do this too - we were so full after the food tour! Would highly recommend the Hoi An Private Tour Guides for the street food tour in Hoi An :)

Outstanding Food Tour!
ene. de 2020 • En solitario
Being personable is a talent and Tour Guide Ha is very talented! Very easy to talk to and laugh with! After 7 dishes I was too full!

I'm probably like you - I don't just look at the ratings, I look at the number of reviews. This one may not have lots of reviewers but I have done food tours in Thailand, Taiwan and Malaysia, Hong Kong and I highly reccomend this tour and especially this tour guide without hesitation!

I never once felt like I was walking too long. Everything is smoothly done and Ha seems to have a great rapport with the vendors.

Continue to share your gift with foreigners, Ha! I wish you much success!

Best Food Tour!
I went on this tour tonight solo (husband injured himself so couldn’t join me). This was honestly the best evening out. My tour guide was brilliant! Explained the background behind each dish we had, what ingredients were used and why. How each ingredient complemented the flavours etc. We went to so many places I would not dare try on my own and every time the dish was so fresh and amazing. It was a real insight into Hoi An and the food. Thoroughly recommend doing this tour in Hoi An and the private tour was brilliant. Tour guide had a great sense of humour and it was a really enjoyable night. Tour tip: go hungry as the food supply is endless!!!

Thanks for the great night

Great food tour!
dic. de 2019 • Parejas
We have done many food tours in many locations and we can honestly say our tour with Ha was one of the best. He is definitely the most knowledgeable guide, not only about food but about Hoi An in general. He is a native of Hoi An and took us to the most authentic places and gave us a history lesson on the food and area. He also determined we would try anything and took us to exotic spots that we would have never heard of unless you are local (not even with all the research we had done)! Great all around experience and if we could give more than 5 stars we would! Highly recommend if you are visiting Hoi An

Best Food Tour Guide in Hoi Ann
nov. de 2019
We contact Buu through Exotic Voyages - he provided us with such a comprehensive food tour of the local specialties in Hoi Ann. First we visited the original location where the white rose dumplings are made and had a good sampling here together with a tour to see them being made and steamed. We tried the famous Cao noodles that are only available in Hoi An and saw the Ba Le Well that provides the water to make these noodles - whole neighbour here very interesting. We then tried the chicken rice at the best place to buy it. Also had the Ba Mi at Banh Mi Phuong that Anthony Bourdin made famous, visited the sweet black sesame soup artisanal homestead with a great visit with the actual founders who are over 100 years old. He ended the tour with the best place to buy local coffee - sampled the local egg coffee. He was patient, provided great information and was very accommodating to our personal requests. Would highly recommend him. Contact him at: +84 905 108384 He is also very knowledgeable of Da Nang - great place to visit if you get tired of the crowds in Hoi Ann - unfortunately people do not know of the many great beaches and other attractions in Da Nang. Thank you Buu for making our visit to Hoi An so very memorable. Joy and Tim, Canada

Great tours, so easy to organise with Ha!
oct. de 2019
I was recommended by a friend who had organaised her Hoi An tours through Ha.

We were so happy with what was arranged.

- Walking Food Tour with Ha was a fun and illuminating experience. A mix of delicious and some challenging foods (snails!), interesting history and cultural immersion. Ha has a great sense of humour and could joke around with the kids. Sooo much food and such a fun way to explore the town.

- Ha organised 5 motorbikes to take my family out to the countryside where we rode buffalo, learned about rice paper making the old fashioned way, went in basket boats, saw pottery being made and even had a detour via a t-shirt shop that one of the bike riders owned (I asked for recommendations, so it wasn't a commission type set up!). Kids loved being on the backs of bikes (ages 8, 11, 13 & 16) - it was very safe and they could have gone all day. The riders were accommodating, fun and informative. Definitely recommend.

- Ha organised a driver for our last day to take us to Marble Mountain on our way to the airport. We also asked for recommendations on non-tourist shopping in Da Nang and Ha gave us his VIP number for a clothing shop and a shoe shop. We got some great bargains. The driver took us to the waterside for lunch and happily did a couple of detours when we had a bit of time to kill.

- Ha also recommended a tailor - Ahn Silk - which belongs to his wife's family. If you go there on his recommendation, you get a 10% discount. I was happy with what I had made and given his wife was 8 months pregnant with baby #2, I think sewing anything is super impressive!

Ha was very easy to communicate with over email, his English is excellent and he is very responsive when you are in Hoi An and have questions or recommendations. I would not hesitate to have Ha organise tours for us should we ever be lucky enough to return!

we had the walking tour with hai, he was a great guide taking us to places you wouldnt find, don back alleys and streets, we tried a few snacks and drinks that were interesting lol the black soup! we met the oldest man in hoi an 105 and he created the recipe for black soup. you get your drinks on route which is included in the price but only got offered 3 drinks and an ice tea in the market place.
all in all a great tour and we also did ba na hills with tai which is £154 for 2 which was dearer than other tour guides but its one on one and we were told about other tour companies that were cheaper but in groups and you was rushed, so definitely try hoi an private tour guides
