Fuera del recinto de pago y a 200 mts se encuentra la Water Wheel, los restos de una instalacion de agua canalizada que movia una rueda de madera que servia para subir agua dulce hasta el faro para su construccion.Escrita el 31 de diciembre de 2014

If you want to ascend to the top of the lighthouse you’ll need to take the guided tour up, which starts at set times and numbers are limited. The stairs are narrow but most able bodied people should be able to walk up. Spectacular views from the top.

Informative though brief tour (30 minutes at most). Mainly a chance to climb to the top of the lighthouse. Interesting facts learnt through the tour including how the lighthouse mechanism works and the role of lighthouse keepers in the past.
Current prices in 2023 for Lighthouse tower tour are $21 for adults, Seniors $19 and children 4-16 years $10. This allows the climb to the top of the lighthouse.
Note that there is no free access to the grounds to walk around the lighthouse. Access is through a Heritage Pass to the grounds, which allows access to the little museum as well. Prices are $7.50 for adults, Seniors $6.00 and Children $3.50.
For Australians, check whether your Automobile club has discounts. NRMA has a modest discount for NSW members.

A must-see place for any Margaret River visit. Unbelievable views of where the Southern and Indian oceans meet with a dollop of history both from the lighthouse, residential buildings and shipwreck information.
Would very much recommend a Devonshire tea at the cafe as they bake their scones onsite, and they are hands down the best we've ever had!

This was a great way to spend a couple of hours. We took a tour of the lighthouse with a guide, who was extremely informative. The views up there were also magnificent. Well worth the fee. We also spent some time in the museum area, looking at old pics of the lighthouse and the area. Well worth a visit.

The whole family (including 14 & 12 yo) enjoyed this experience. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the view from the top was worth every step. One of the cottages is set up as a museum and it had excellent interactive displays. We spent 1.5 hours here and, all in all, it was well worth the time.

We went to Cape Leewin on a guided tour part of the Margaret River package .. We firstly went to the shop we like collecting tea 🍵 towels to send overseas ,but we were stopped in our tracks to see they were $29 each ...for a teatowel NO. Then we went on to the light house and we were never given the opportunity to go inside not the cost it was busy with a group .
That was so disappointing when a bus 🚍 tour turns up you would think we may have that opportunity to go inside ... Great lighthouse all the same

Who would have thought that to protect shipping from the really dangerous shores, someone would build a giant grandfathers clock mechanism to turn a kerosene lamp sighted with its massive lens on a mercury bath, flashing a light that could be seen 50km away. All of this is sited in a massive lighthouse ( the tallest on the mainland), and worked so well it was only electrified in the 80s ( but its all still there and, with the exception of the light, and electric motor running the mechanism) works just the way it was designed and build in 1895. Peter out tour guide told the story brilliantly and left us in Awe of what we were seeing.

The location of the lighthouse is impressive given its situation in the far south west of Australia. My family and I went on a guided tour of the lighthouse enabling us to go up to the top of it and experience the strong winds we had that day - a light breeze according to Bruce. Bruce was an excellent tour guide and given his name, hat and features, the most wonderful stereotypical Australian an Englishman could ever meet. He was great! The views from the were great as were the stories and information provided. The small museum on site was also well informed. The coffee shop was also good and provided some lovely gluten free cakes. Thoroughly recommended.

Pick a sunny day to visit the Lighthouse.
This is were two oceans meet and you view two different types of coast lines.
It cost $10 to get into the place and you pay extra for the lighthouse tour as well. Kids must be over 4 or 7 years of age (can’t remember) to climb / walk the stairs for the guided tour.
The tour is on the hour.
I like visiting places like this where the oceans meet and points of interest Ie, southern most point.
There is a cafe with inside sit down cafe area. It serves a purpose.
The gift shop is actually really good.
This is family friendly.
Recommend - yes
Return again - yes
Toilets - yes

Gorgeous views from the top of the lighthouse and lots of great information provided by our guides Kiani (sp?) and Riley. We even spotted some whales on the horizon.
Highly recommend it if you are comfortable with climbing narrow steps (with a railing).

Sorry I have no idea, the few days I checked on their website enabled booking. Maybe try again or contact them direct. Even if it was closed Augusta is a lovely area to walk around and not far from Margaret River.
