We enjoyed a very relaxing tasting at Planters Ridge. It's just a short drive from the highway. The winery is large enough but not large. The ambiance is what I might describe as country chic. My husband had a red flight and I the white, so we could compare. We purchased the L'Acadie, pinot noir and sparkling mead. I had never experienced a sparkling mead, and found this one delightful and not overly sweet. Prices on some wines are on the expensive side, while others are good bang for the buck. In my opinion, the tasting fees were a tad high. The service was good, the restrooms clean and it is accessible.

We had a great tour and tasting of this winery! The grounds are gorgeous, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the wines are delicious. We love visiting wineries with a great story and focus on quality wines. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy the outside deck!

Annapolis Valley has many vineyards and visiting them is the most popular attraction in the area. Planters Ridge is a small but very personal vineyard. My wife and I had a tour and the tour lady was very friendly and knowledgeable. This spot has become one of our favorite in NS.

The good: The patio was nice, the view was nice, the tasting room was nice too, as were the staff.
The not-so-good: The elevation and infatuation sparkling wines were flat and watery. The rummed cider was flat and watery (not very much of a rum taste either). We saw a trend and bought nothing to take with us but vowed to come back after they figure a few things out to improve their wines.
There's a self-serve wine bar; you buy a &20 card at the counter, try what you like, then get back whatever you didn't spend if you tasted less than $20 worth.
If you like pretty much any wine that someone puts in front of you, Planters is worth a visit. If you have been drinking wine for a long time and decided what you like and have a bit of a heightened expectation of your wine, this is not the pace for you. Or me. Yet.

The tasting room is located in a beautiful renovated barn with a wrap around deck. The views are amazing. Staff is terrific and completes an informative tasting through their wines. Excellent whites. Our favourite winery of the day.

Dealt with an excellent young man named Mark, he was very knowledgable and truly cared about the product. He was a local Nova Scotian and his passion really made our day. Needless to say we ordered A LOT of wine.

First date with the grape L`Acadie and it was amazing. You can also taste here nice white wines. The staff is friendly and experienced. We spent nice time here.

We stopped for wine tasting at Planters Ridge during our East coast vacation which is a small beautiful winery. Planters Ridge has a wonderful patio with great views but unfortunately due to rain we had to remain inside their lovely decorated tasting room. We tried several of their white wines and their rummed cider. We loved the cider and their Riesling. Friendly staff. Great little winery.

Surprised by this little gem. Loved the wines. All four in our group liked almost every selection. The taster server even cracked open a bottle of Lucie Kuhlmann for me. Only disappointment is that at most other wineries, the tasting fee is waived with a purchase of a few bottles or $100 in wine.

Are we able to bring our small dog to the winery or is it mostly indoors and no pets allowed

Hi Erin, you may bring your dog to the winery as long as they are on a leash, and you clean up after them. We usually also check with the other guests in the tasting room to make sure they are all OK with bringing the dog inside. Hope to see you soon!
