Barrio: Shibuya, Harajuku, Ebisu

Wanted to do something with the kids, and this is a good experience. This is a place where you go for 2 hours and not just to do 1 or 2 games. There are set times during the day - you can go before and put your name down for a specific time or you can book online for the spot you want (google tokyo vr park and use google translate). You dont need to pay when you book your spot online.
The cost is reasonable and kids are cheaper than adults. You pay for unlimited games, but do note that as there are lots of other people there (still limited to how many people are allowed in) that you will also have to wait for a while during the games.
There could be more games that would make things more interesting. Some of the games are specifically in Japanese while others are for max 2 people. The car racing game can have up to 4 players. There is an age limit of 7 years i think.
Downstairs there are other video games as well as a number of the claw games to win prizes.

if you get motion sickness, this activity is not for you. When you visit, you select a time frame (1 hour) to experience the VR Park. We had a little less than an hour to kill so we went shopping in the area beforehand. It was quite busy so we didn't get to try all the VR games which there are 8. The best one is the magic carpet ride. Most of the VR rides, there is a goal where you are actually playing a game. While you wait for each game, you watch the person in front of you and also see what they are seeing so it kind of ruins the surprise but also allows you to understand what you're about to do. The one where you have to walk on a "plank" as if you were on the top of a building was the one that gave me the most butterflies. The quality of the video is pretty good and you get a face mask to wear so it's a little more sanitary.

We were very excited about going to this and had booked it in the night before. When we arrived they did not have our booking however we were still able to attend as we were first ones there before it opened. It was a lot of fun however some things to be aware of. There is a fair bit of waiting so we didn't actually get time to do every VR there. It is more of a you get to have a chance on some rather than an actual go. For example, we waited for 15 minutes for a go on the beam simulator. One of us at the start lost there balance a little and placed one foot on off the bean just on the ground. They removed the headset and told her, her turn was over and called the next person. After waiting for so long it was quite unfair that a simple miss step meant the turn was over.
Overall it was a good experience and we did enjoy it however just be aware of some points I made above.

VR Park looks great. I am sure they poured a lot of money into it. However, it disappoints; not because of the VR, but due to over-pricing, long queues and failure to anticipate that most tourists/non-Japanese will be walk-ins.
There are 4 game tickets that might be worth the money, but anything other than that is unfortunately not worth the cost. Japanese tend to pre-book most things, so unless you do so - you may end up disappointed. The staff are not very well trained, and quite inexperienced to interact with non-Japanese.
The VR game we tried was ok, but one of our team had issues, and the staff were unable to help and offered no re-try or recompense.
Overall, until the pricing becomes more competitive, or they up their staff training; I would suggest there are better ways to spend your money in Shinjuku (feel free to reach out to me if you would like suggestions)

We were informed by the tourist office that VR park can sell us one time tickets here. We walked all the way into facility for around 1 hour in Tokyo summer heat just to be informed that these tickets are not available. What a waste of time!! I'm so disappointed. Apart from that staff can't speak any English at all. Don't waist your time and skip this attraction.

We stumbled across this VR arcade and I was pretty taken in by all the different games they had all in one room. They've got car racing, first-person shooters, bungee jumping, and more.
A lot of the games incorporate some kind of environmental factor. The magic carpet ride has a floor that moves under you. The bungee jumping actually has you jump. One of the shooters has you walk onto a platform that makes you feel like you're about to fall off.
None of the games were particularly outstanding, but trying them all in one place was awesome. For $30 USD, that's not too bad. You have to go ahead of time to reserve a time slot, but you can do it in person the same day, so don't worry too much about it. Each time slot is 90 minutes, and I had enough time to try all but 2 of the games. For many of them, I had to wait my turn for around 5 minutes.
Favorite games were probably the racing and the magic carpet one.

There were 6 VR games when we visited around end of March, out of which 3 were single player, and the others are for 2 players.
Of the 2 player games:
The horror game was pretty lame, as it's just a non interactive film with some jump scares, and having another player doesn't add anything.
The ghost busters style game is fun, but isn't really a co-op game, as one player plays "commander", which means he only aids the main player by clicking a touch screen, without any VR.
The carpet of Solomon was the most fun of the 2 player games, as it's a real VR co-op shooter, with a small twist that the arena you stand in move based on the VR sequence, though the game isn't really challenging and I don't think you can even lose in it.
Of the single player games:
The Circle of savors is probably the most fun, but has the biggest waiting line, and you'll need a few attempts to figure out the timings you need to attack / block right.
The bungee jumping is very cool, but it doesn't cause any real feeling of excitement.
Overall I think it's worth a visit for the VR twist, just be prepared there aren't many games worth playing there.

Decided to drop by for about 2 hours today. I felt that it was a great representation of where VR tech is at this point. Quite good, but not perfect. However, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun!
I did most of the experiences (I believe that there are eight total). I think that my favourite was the roller coaster, but by far the best exhibition of VR was the balancing beam. The race cars one made me a bit motion sick - I don’t normally feel that kind of thing, so it caught me off guard.
Overall, it was an definitely enjoyable experience and worth the time and money to go.

I was looking forward to go to VR Park since Japan is only the place where you can experience mind blowing things that you see only from tv. It’s in my top list to do when I arrived in Tokyo and I managed to go during my first 3 days there. The queue was already fulled when me and my sister arrived. A helpful man came and ask do we need help for the tickets or did we made any reservations before hand. It was a smooth and quick transaction using the machine and we joined the waiting line. It took around 20-30mins and they did mentioned to alert them if we have motion sickness while we played as we will use most of our body while playing. It’s not just a 3D experience, your whole body was reacting to it. If I knew earlier, I wouldn’t take a big dinner or maybe have some warm up. Seriously talking from a 30-ish woman. So be ready to blow your mind but beware that you will get motion sickness(depends on your body). You might get nausea-tic from your first game or after a few times. Alas, it was a good experience for me and I did regret because I was not prepared mentally before I play. So, mentally and physically you must be ready for this. But don’t stress yourself out, you came to have fun so have fun and enjoy the moment. That matters the most cheers!
