We did not start the tour because the weather was very bad that day. It rained heavily, there were strong gusts of wind and it was quite cool from the point of view of temperatures - not good conditions for a snorkeling trip, which strangely took place anyway, which we had considered quite dangerous.
We were promised 75% refund of the travel price because we did not want to participate. That was fine, but I would have liked it better if the trip had just been cancelled. The participants we were able to talk to in the aftermath did not see a single fish and the tour had to be ended prematurely due to the bad weather.

Stunning - the coral, the fish AND the water! Put it on your “must see” list when visiting the Raiatea Tahiti area. Do know ahead of time that you are drifting on top of the coral on a guided tour - no flippers allowed so bring water shoes. Enjoy!!!!!

Best snorkeling day in French Polynesia!
We were alone in the boat with Goney. He was amazing! He took us to where he liked to snorkel. It was a beautiful area with healthy coral and many fish. He snorkeled once through with us and then let us explore on our own.
On the way back to the boat, we saw a mother humpback whale and her baby. Magical!

We opted for a half a day excursion from Raiatea to Taha'a and ended up being the only 2 people on board - I have asked in advance what we want to see and I said: vanilla farm, rhum distillery, coral garden (I have reviewed all 3 individual experiences separately) - and that's exactly what we ended up visiting - nothing more, nothing less :) we left around 8AM from marina on Raiatea, and returned about 12/12:30PM - it was perfect! The fee was 11,500XPF per person, so a bit higher than 9,800 XPF per their website but considering the private tour is listed at 49,500 and we did end up pretty much having one I cannot complain :) cash only
The boat was nice, big (putting aside the fact that we were the only people on it other than the captain of course) and clean - I like some art pieces on it. Julian, the owners' son was our captain and also the lead during the coral garden free floating - spoke English and was very friendly and good with the coral garden instructions.
I had some concerns during communication period about the tour itself, especially during the final couple days as it was during holidays in FP but it all worked out perfectly, exactly how we wanted so I can only say good things ultimately about it all.

Excellent tour. Must be done. We had done a few other tours....this one is different. Your guide snorkels with you. You follow through a gorgeous cavern of coral. Wear shoes that you can swim with. Unique experience. Thanks Johnny!

Met at the pier right off our cruise ship. Travelled by boat to remote island and water was crystal clear and shallow where we anchored. We trekked up stream to a channel between 2 small islands and drifted back seeing so many corals and tons of sealife. It did rain near end but didn’t hamper any experience. Great adventure and our guides were so informative too! Highly recommended!

Took a boat trip from Raiatea to the coral gardens drift snorkel in Taha’a with Te Mara Nui tours. We flew in to the Raiatea airport early in the morning on the day of our tour and we were met right at the airport and driven to the marina and got on the boat. The boat took us from Raiatea to the neighboring island of Taha’a, where the amazing coral gardens are located.
With views of Bora Bora as the backdrop we were able to do two trips through the coral garden drift snorkel zone before leaving. The drift snorkel is amazing. The coral is alive and vibrant and we had a great time. The staff were incredibly helpful and took great care of us. They gave us bananas and cookies and juice to enjoy.
When the snorkel time was done we went back in the boat, back to Raiatea, and then we were driven back to the airport. It was an unforgettable day!! This company really made everything easy. We didn’t have to worry about anything. I look forward to using them again.

While the snorkeling experience on this tour is very good (drifting over a valley of good quality colourful coral), we give this tour a poor rating because of its poor attention to safety in bad weather. The weather is important because it is a long 45min boat trip to get to the snorkeling site in a relatively small relatively open boat. We went on a rainy morning and I asked the guide if she thought the weather would improve and importantly she said no. We nevertheless departed. There was no safety briefing other than remain seated. No mention of life jackets on board and we doubt there were sufficient on board for the number of passengers. Upon commencing the return trip to Raiatea, the weather worsened with higher wind and some rain. The water was very choppy with some waves breaking over the front of the boat. It was a very uncomfortable return trip and some passengers were very anxious. If not for the skill of the male driver, the boat could have been easily swamped. The final piece of evidence to convince me that this tour company is dangerous in bad weather is that we later learnt that ALL snorkeling tours that morning booked through the cruise ship had been CANCELLED due to the bad weather outlook. This tour company should have done the same thing in the interest of the safety of its passengers. For this reason, although the tour was good from just a snorkeling point of view, we recommend not booking with this tour operator as insufficient attention is given to safety in the event of bad weather.

The best snorkeling I have ever done. Crystal clear waters, warm inviting temperature, colorful coral and beautiful varieties of fish. We experienced nothing but great care from our guide who led us through the coral with no fins needed. He stopped at clearings and made sure we were standing in a group before continuing. Finally in the open areas we were free to snorkel without a current. I only regret we had not booked this for both days. And yes the pictures are what you will see.

Bonjour
Je séjournerai au sunset beach motel du 24 au 26 juin 2020.
J'aimerai découvrir le motu Iriru et le motu Ofetaro. Je cherche un" bateau navette" pour m'y emmener et évoluer en toute liberté. Est-ce possible ? A quel tarif svp ?

Merci pour votre message.Je propose effectivement des navettes pour le motu ofetaro,on vous depose quand vous le desirez et vous restez le temps que vous voulez,vous pouvez vous baigner,faire du snorkeling ou bien tou simplement rester sur la plage.sur le motu il y a ds douches des toilettes et des abrits.
Si vous retez lajournée je peux vous preter une glaciere palmes ,masque et tuba.
Le tarif est de 2500 cfp par personne ( 20 euros)
Si vous etes passionnée par le snorkeling nous pouvons vous amener dans la passe teavapiti pour une petite randonnée d'environ 30 a 45 minutes avant de vous deposer au motu ofetaro ( supplement 20 euros)
par contre je ne vais pas au motu iriru ( trop loin ou bien il faut louer le bateau pour la journée!!)
Je reste a votre disposotion pour tout renseignement complementaire
