Great small family run Sake business. Great intro to sake and interesting to learn about the 21 generations of the family.

We went here as a stop on a guided tour around the Mt Fuji area. Great little out-of-the-way place. Sake was very good and it was informative. You could buy coins to sample different kinds. We enjoyed it and even bought a couple of bottles to take home. (yes they made it home in one piece padded nicely in our dirty clothes on the flight home)

Excellent sake brewery tour. Booked online before we left home, but do know that you can chance availablity the same day.
This small sake brewery in the lovely town of Fujikawaguchiko is a short walk up from the lake & a great way to spend an hour & half.
The staff are super friendly & English was excellent. The tour covers all elements of the process & you get to see inside all the buildings & processing areas.
At the end there is a tasting in the shop with explanation of the type of sake you are trying - & lots available to buy, along with other gifts.

Great tour! Very interesting and our guide spoke excellent English. I really enjoyed learning how sake is made. The tasting was delicious and very well organised. Highly recommend. Took about 1-2 hours total.

One of the best brewery tours I have been on! Staff is very nice and the tour was very informative. We went on the English tour and had no problems understanding the staff. At the end, you get to try different types of sake and whiskey! Great value and a great experience!

We spontaneously went to the brewery asking if there is a tour available. We got into one 45minites later for 800¥ per person. We were all alone with our English speaking tour guide. We got to try two Sake and one Peach Wine. We also bought 5 tokens for 550¥ to try more Sake at a machine. We ended up buying two bottles and got a free Sake Ice Cream. Very friendly personell, we will come again.

I am not a huge sake drinker but it was really interesting to see how sake was made and we got a taste too. You must pre-book through their website which is a bit of a confusing process but manageable. Pricing is very reasonable at ¥800 for everything and they also sell a huge range of sake and other products in the shop.

毎年、2月に2日間、蔵開きのイベントがあります。きき酒、酒粕詰め放題やお店がいっぱい出てとても楽しい雰囲気です。普段も予約すれば酒蔵見学ができますよ。

This was an interesting and fun place to visit for an hour or so. We booked in advance online. The tour was done in English and she showed us around the brewery as much as was possible. There were some interesting videos to watch too.
We got the chance to see the old house and gardens that belong to the brewery family - they're very beautiful.
The tour ended in the shop, where we sat around a table and understood more about the different types of sake they make there - and then got to try a few. The sake was very delicious and we were going to buy some but unfortunately didn't have space in the suitcase. Next time!

I will be travelling from out of the region. I was wondering what the easiest way to get to the town is from either Hakone, Gotemba or Tokyo? Preferably want to take train or bus.
Thanks

There is a bus that runs to/from various places in Tokyo to Kawaguchiko. We bought tix thru Japanbusonline and it worked out great.

I just called them. You can ask the congierge of your hotel to call too. In fact, they speak enough english to make a reservation by phone. They are extremely helpful Remember that just about all the tours start at 9.30 AM. This place is a working business (in the summer they have more time as the sake is already made and waiting in barrels...)

I would love to make a reservation for the afternoon tour 10/17 for 2 people, but the website is all in Japanese. How can I make a reservation? Thanks!
