I visited with my extended family for a mill tour, this was informative and well presented, the miller involved my grandson George and kept him attentive. I would highly recommend any family visit, but please book ahead as there may be shortgaes of space or water! We also visted the cafe for good coffee and on-site produced crossaints.

Complète chance visit - but loved the community enterprise - and the charming small garden wedged between the river and the mill race. Opportunity to see the wheel working. Café available but food a but disappointing (but see separate review). They do 45 min tours / but we didn’t have time - so 15 mins was fine to look around

We had been meaning to go for ages and finally made the trip and it was well worth the time and effort. Dick was a great guide and a fountain of knowledge and made it very interesting. We had lunch in the cafe which was delicious and bought bread which was lovely. All the staff and volunteers were helpful and friendly all in all a great visit.

We dropped in for lunch and it was so good we're planning to go back later in the week! Squash, apple and blue cheese soup was delicious, and served with a chunky slice of buttered sourdough - honestly, it was heaven! Hubby had the eggs, and was equally impressed. We then toured the beautiful garden, and went into the craft shop - bought some lovely items, and the lady serving was so kind and helpful. Sadly the mill tours aren't running at present but we had a fascinating chat with one of the extremely knowledgeable volunteers. In all, a fabulous visit, I can't fault it. Huge thanks.

Visited the mill and one of their volunteers gave us a wonderful tour around the whole mill,giving us thorough detail about the operation which goes on to produce the finished flour. Fascinating. Very helpful and friendly chap.
The mill has a good cafe,which also sells bread making kits and bread made on the premises.

Gerties Cafe. Nice atmosphere and good coffee. Food was freshly prepared and tasty but poor value for money as very small portions for the price. Had to pay extra for Gluten Free bread which was just two slices for a small toasted sandwich, which I could easily have made myself. Open sandwich on rye bread also only one small piece of bread. Appreciate cost of living rises but too expensive for a snack.The mill itself is interesting and has a small shop with unique local crafts.

This is a really interesting renovation of an historical building into a working mill. The history is available to see how the place has evolved over the hundreds of years it has stood.
The tours are informative and fun and who cannot fail to be impressed by the magnitude of a turning wheel with all its groaning and creaking. The fellas love the engineering while the women are beguiled by the production of a foodstuff they recognise from farm material.

We are not “guided tour” people but please agree to a tour, which is free. It was really worth it.
We had a lovely couple of hours here. We had such a great guide, I wish I knew his name. He was a tall, white haired gentleman and a great, warm, funny host. Everyone there is a volunteer and the community have come together to keep the mill running. We were able to go back round alone after so I could take some better photos. Kids can make their own bit of flour to take away too, which the two kids on our tour loved.
Service in the cafe is a little slow but the food we had was fabulous and worth the wait. I think the bread is from the flour milled there. It was delish! We bought some bread making kits to give it a go at home.

What a gem! We spent a couple of hours here, starting with delicious crossants in the cafe. Then we explored the garden, which is a delight, with a view over the river, and lots of places to sit - loved the watercress growing in the rill. Finally we met some volunteers and had a very informative guided tour of the mill which was in operation. Definitely worth a visit.

What a terrific piece of working history, with a fabulous bakery and wonderful cafe. I have started taking guests and other visitors there. Never disappointing, always great. Thanks Dido and everyone.

I do not have a car. Is there any any way of getting to the mill other than the aforesaid means? I am aware of the existence of travelinecymru. I was hoping u could help on that point. Many thanks.

Is it possible to bring 2 small dogs on site? I would love to look round the place as it would take me back to my childhood. My friend would be in charge of them while I would be inside. I am bringing her down to Wales for her 60th birthday.

Both the Mill and the Visitor Centre / Cafe are food production areas, so I would imagine that dogs would not be allowed. However, the staff are extremely friendly and so I suggest that you give them a call in advance of your visit. There is outdoor seating available, which weather permitting might work.
