One of the best place in wayanad to see the sunrise view. If you’d like to see the sunrise, reach before 5 - 5:30am to the parking zone of kurumbalakotta. Because, from there have to be trek around 30mins - 1hour(based on your trekking skill) to the destination point.

The place is amazing. beautiful sunrise and mesmerizing view! However, please go on your own after staying someplace close. Please do not stay in the illegal camp sites or the resort that offers great view.

Absolutely horrendous customer service and they're completely destroying the beautiful place. The person who is in charge: JINTO is an arrogant prick and treats people with no respect. They also make illegal profit by providing tents in the backyard and thereby devastating the place. Forest authority should take action against such anti-social elements. If you're on a holiday and want to enjoy your time, look for better options. Also it is not safe for family/women travelers. Outstation travelers/tourists please beware not to fall into their trap.

Here is Jinto's number which you should avoid if you want to enjoy "God's own country". (+91 956 252 0077)

We stayed with friends in a tent on a chilled night, full of mist around us.So many people gathered there with full of joy and the noise made little discomfort. They bought their own booze and are in full of spirit as there is no restriction on Alcohol. For families its a no-no on night camping. At morning there are a thousand visitors and there is even small shops for hot black tea service. All this chaos are not good and several lying empty bottles made the story so sad to us. we tried to clean the place but there is no proper waste bin there. But when sun rise from the east we are in a magical land. so mesmerizing sight through the mist and above the clouds. Must experience. Families can go there in morning and evening, but there is a small treck about 1 kilometer.

Good Place to Stay in Tent. If you are planning to visit; Reach there before Sun set and enjoy the evening, stay there wake up early morning and enjoy the Sun rise. If you are lucky; you can see the thick cloud which will is a different experience.

A breathtaking trip to the top of Kurumbalakotta for sun rise is an unique experience and a must visit place in Wayanad. You have to trek the last 2.5km or take a bumpy ride in a jeep.

Mesmerizingly beautiful, the place offers a breathtaking spectacle. While the climb up is a spiritually enriching experience, the descend will always be special for the memories of a visit well worth the while. So powerful is the pull of the hillock bang in the middle of Wayanad. Kurumbalakotta, quite like Meesapulimala, is not an easy climb. It’s no jay walk. This is also the sole reason why the spot has become every adventure tourist’s challenge. One moment you see the mists rolling out and the valleys taking on a brilliant colour. The scene changes within a fraction of a second and takes on another hue and mood. The valleys become invisible under thick sheets of mist and everything is lost. This is the beauty of Kurumbalakotta.

You have to be a poet to describe about this beautiful place...
We took a lot of efforts to reach this place..And honestly it's worth a million...
We were there at the downside of the viewpoint exactly at 5 am..we had jeep to take us up to a certain point and then we need to walk some 500 metres and then you will see God's best creations...
The clouds hitting mountains just at the touch of your hand ....
Exactly at 5.50 was the sunrise and we witnessed the serene beauty of it...
Awesome.....
I took this guude's help Me.Siddhik ,,,he owns an auto and he knows all places in Wayanad and especially this Kurumbalakotta view point...
