Fabulous and informative tour with the wonderful Sylvanis. So much local flora and fauna and bird life to see. A really memorable experience. Thank you Sylvanis! Louise and Jane

Sylvanis was a great guide - we learned so much about the native plants, birds and wildlife and the farm. He provided us with walking sticks which helped with some climbing and some muddy spots (wear hiking boots if you can). We also got to sample fresh coconut and coconut water, grapefruit, raspberries, sugar cane, begonia flowers. We also had a tasting of the "antique spiced rum", sorrel wine and begonia wine. We were very fortunate to see several St. Lucia Parrots (Amazons) flying back and forth across the valley, and we also saw hummingbirds banana quits, trembler, thrasher and more. This is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon on St. Lucia.

Really neat experience. Drive to the Estate is pretty daunting, however. Saw 4 of 5 indigenous birds to St. Lucia. Would recommend to the nature lover interested in leaning of native plants and animals. Guide was fantastic

Great tour! Fabulous and unique views. Lots of bird sightings as promised. Our guide, Bookerti, was outstanding! He knew EVERYTHING about the wildlife, the farm, the whole island. An absolute fountain of knowledge! He ended up taking us to a local restaurant called La Belvedere that was exactly what we’ve been looking for in the way of good, authentic, local food!

We had a great tour today and our guide was Bookerty. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the birds and plants but also great fun. We saw many indigenous birds but a Chicken Hawk prevented the parrots from flying. There were great views on the trail including Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea, the Pitons and Mont Gimie. We tasted coconut milk, tangerine and grapefruit whilst we walked and at the end we roasted cashews over a flame - delicious!! We tasted local Spiced Rum and Sorrel wine, with option to buy a small bottle of different flavoured rums (20USD). The cost of the tour was 60 USD pp. our taxi took us up the road - it is very steep, narrow and rough. A great experience of the tropical rain forest in a very comfortable temperature and cool breeze. The best time to see the birds is early morning just after sunrise or the hour before sunset.

We were recommended Grand Eden Estate by a very friendly member of staff in a local restaurant in Laborie, and what a great recommendation it was, Silvanus who greeted us and guided us around the estate was a complete pleasure to spend time with, his knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious, what he doesn’t know about the plants and wildlife of this stunning Island isn’t worth knowing.
The tour was fascinating and the views were incredible, added to this was the fresh coconut and bag of freshly picked produce topped off by the home brewed Old spiced rum, a couple bottles of which have returned to the UK with us.
We can’t recommend this tour enough and the bone shaking road to get there was all part of the fun.
Great tour, incredible host and a beautiful location 10/10

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Saint Lucia - you will not get this experience anywhere else!
Silvanous was an amazing host and tour guide. He was able to offer us transport to and from Soufriere (paid) to get to his estate, as it is definitely "off-road" and no taxi will take you there. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and genuine.
We really enjoyed learning all about the birds and plant life on his property - he knows a lot about birds (recognizes the calls) and also was able to show us some really interesting things about some of the plants (sap, seeds, etc). We enjoyed hiking his lush rainforest trails (you do need to dress appropriately and wear proper hiking boots - I would not rate the trails as "light/easy"). He shared several local fruits with us - so fresh and delicious, and also fresh roasted cashews. We had the rare pleasure of seeing several rare specifics of birds, including the St. Lucian Parrot and St. Lucia Oriole. We saw several stunning views and heard some great stories from Silvanous.
He has a vision for this property and I hope he makes it happen - truly a unique experience well worth the off-rode ride and few hours spent at Grand Eden.

This is a must do tour in our opinion. My wife and I booked this through Danny Boy and Good Vibes Tours. This was our favorite tour we did while on our honeymoon visiting St. Lucia. Silvo was our tour guide and did a fantastic job! He is extremely knowledgeable of the land, plants, and animals on the island and kept my wife and I engaged the whole time! We really enjoyed this outdoor adventure tour. We were able to observe rare birds, sample fresh fruits, and vegetables as well as learn farming and gardening techniques used by the locals. It was an absolutely wonderful time thanks to Silvo our tour guide! This is a hidden gem of a tour with a little hiking, bird watching, educational, and fresh fruits and vegetable tasting tour! It was about a 2-3 hour tour. Highly recommend and ask for Silvo as your guide, he won’t disappoint! (I do recommend wearing hiking boots. My wife and I wore tennis shoes on a rainy day and made do but if I were to do this again I would definitely wear my hiking boots).

Sylva made an incredibly unique experience based on our specific requests. This included trails with great views of his gorgeous property, trying local fruits and even a sample of homemade rum. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about all of the birds and wildlife growing it was beyond impressive. I cannot recommend this enough and was highlight of our trip!

My wife and I have over 2 weeks left in St Lucia and we are writing this review the evening after our half day adventure. We can say right now this was and will be the best and most memorable experience we will have on the island. ABSOLUTLEY PHONOMENAL!!!!
If you appreciate the beauty of nature and want a break from the everyday busy tourist places then engage yourself in an eco adventure that will render a life long memory. We read about this on the Internet before arriving and knew we would take this tour and we were not disappointed. The excitement begins on the drive to the estate, the road is just shy of being worthy of 4 wheel drive(dont worry we did it in our Suzuki). The drive only emphasizes how special of a place you are going. The everyday tourist is no where around and you are leaving all that further and further behind as you climb the mountain. We had the pleasure and honor of having Silvo as our guide. His knowledge was astonishing, being taught mainly by his grandparents. Knowing the local fauna and the traditional medicinal uses of them was passed on in his parental teachings. Obviously he paid close attention. I was sure he had degrees in all these fields. His level of knowledge was astonishing and all the home remedies I wish I had recorded all of them. I was amazed at how much he knew regarding the medicinal uses of so many of the plants that all grow on the estate. We had fresh grapefruit, coconut, cucumber from the garden, raspberries. Tried a bit of the antique spiced rum he had made(a local fare), it was amazing. For me the highlight personally roasting fresh cashews over an open fire! And my husbands was the rum of course, and a close second was the breathtaking views that no other unfortunate tourist or the majority of local residents will ever witness. It is that special!! We hiked through rain forest to peaks that provided overlooks to preserved lands. He knew about all the birds and fauna. We witnessed the rarest birds on the island and was lucky enough to see a pair of very rare St Lucian parrots! Obviously can't say enough about this adventure and life long memory we made today. Silvo...Thank you so much

HAS anyone taken a taxi from the cruise terminal to Grand Eden?
How much does the tour cost?
Escrita el 19 de enero de 2024
The tour really has no “cost”. But they do expect a tip afterwards. We gave $60 USD for his time. He said “payment is good” when we were leaving. I’m not sure if a taxi will drive up there because of how rough the roads are but if you ask I’m sure they would :) the roads are bad anyways so I’m sure it doesn’t make a difference to them. Worth a shot to ask!
