This is my complaint to Woodside Cars - Part of AAA mini cab service
On Wednesday July 15th 2020, just after 0100hrs, my wife took a cab from our home in South Norwood to her art studio, some 10 minutes drive away. On getting into the car she was greeted by the driver, "Hello baby"
It was and is highly inappropriate. As far as I'm concerned, this showed a total lack of manners and professionalism. The familiarity and forwardness of such a statement wasn't appreciated by my wife. Further to that on leaving the car at her destination the driver follows up with "Goodnight lovely lady"
She was on edge for the journey whilst the driver tried to proceed with some small talk. She ignored and didn't engage. For a black woman travelling at that time of night to be and feel safe and secure is paramount.
This cab station has been used by my family for years, so it has come as a great shock that someone on their firm should act in such a manner. This was seemingly out of place.
I proceeded to the incorrect address advertised online before phoning and speaking to the controller in the Beckenham office.
Regardless of assurances by the above mentioned cab station, that this driver on the night shift, would be reprimanded and spoken to, I feel compelled to say something, so as to address the standard that all drivers at this cab station are to uphold. Primarily making sure that any woman travelling alone in any of their cars should feel safe from any unwelcome behaviour or talk from their drivers.

Wow. A pick up from the Swan in West Wickham. Regular trip. 2 miles, with 2 drop offs, Cannon Cars charge £8. Croydon Carriage charge £8. This time we were told it would be £14.50. The so called controller was abusive when this was queried, and told us we were lucky and that Uber charge more than that on saturdays (this was a tuesday). Anyway this was not his fault, he said, as that was what the computer said. Yeah right. A professional company and professional controller ? I don't think so. Disgraceful.

Pre booked a cab online for an early morning pickup. Pickup confirmed, on the morning of pickup just before it’s due. They call to cancel as they don’t cover that area? Why was the booking allowed and not checked beforehand. It was booked with plenty of time in advance.

Cancelled a confirmed booking the afternoon before an early morning flight. Apparently I selected the wrong size vehicle, but really they didn't have the vehicle available. I would be happy to accept that, but don't blame the customer for your limitations.

The lady on the phone. Sounded council. She was really rude. And clearly doesn’t understand currency and mileage. Clearly needs to get out more, think she belongs to AA instead of the AAA.

I did not choose this company as didn't realise it was a central hub for local cabs now, so when I dialled for Eden Park cars to go to Paddington station I got this mob! The driver went the longest way he could have gone and hit rush hour morning traffic in all the well known should avoid areas! my husband who knows London routes very well tried to tell him quicker route but he wouldn't listen. We arrived at Paddington totally stressed, it should have been a 50min drive but took double that, Company attitude when I phoned to mention this crazy route he had taken was to blame me for not leaving enough time, but they told us allow 50mins!! DO NOT TRUST THEM TO GET YOU ANYWERE ON TIME!! I do not recommend and will not use again!

They should close, there is a big difference between 5 and 20 mins and some punk talking about my manager said who's sitting at the back office, on site, absolute joke!!!!

We use this taxi service a lot and they always arrive on time and always have availability. They are really fair priced. Couldn’t recommend them more!
