Came to Kimmeridge today for the first time since I was a child to take some photos. Although the tide was quite some way in (we had checked tide times and high tide wasn't due for 2hrs but there seemed to be a really high tide today??) we had good fun. Found a few fossils and stayed for a couple of hours. All in all, a good way to spend a morning

Went fossil hunting on Kimmeridge Beach. Found lots of fossils embodied in the rocks. Perfect beach for children to go hunting but not to take !!!! easy parking but take your own food and drink as there is not always any thing there.

If you want a peaceful day out away from the hustle and bustle with some fossil hunting and rockpooling thrown in then this is the place for you. Beautiful bay, lots of space to explore and when the tide is out there are so many fossils to find on the rocks on the shore line. Parking is £6 and you can stay all day so its good value.

It was ok, I just felt like it was a bit of a waste of money for the parking fee when there’s not much to do. The visitor centre was small and a bit pointless and toilets were a disgrace, no toilet paper or soap. For the amount of money they are making they could make a lot more effort. Kids enjoyed looking at the fossils and in rock pools but that only lasted 40 mins then there’s nothing else to look at or do.

Beautiful little place. Very relaxing and chilled out. Our highlight was without doubt the fossil museum - just awesome. You can’t go to Kimmeridge and not visit this amazing museum with its dedicated, knowledgeable staff and fascinating exhibits.

A lovely rock beach (bay) that has many rock pools at low tide and is a nice place to spend the day. It is quite a sheltered bay depending on wind direction and captures the sun nicely when it does actually come out!

A couple of suggestions though that I take issue with:

1) You pay £6 at least for a days parking, which means that they could at least restock the toilet roll as it had fully run out by the middle of the day!

2) Clear signing of where the car park for the slipway would be nice

How “dog friendly” do you have to be to enjoy Kimmeridge Bay? Well, in the space of 20 minutes we were treated to a Labrador pooing on the seaweed my daughter had just been playing with (the owners pretended not to notice), a wet dog on an extendable lead brushing past and soaking my trouser leg, another just about to pee on my wife’s beach bag, then the Labrador was back cocking its leg against my chair.
We’ll take the fossil centre and Clavell’s but leave this dog toilet of a beach well alone.

Amazing beach that you can easily spend a few hours exploring all the rock pools and looking for fossils in the rocks

There was a man selling Mexican food as part oft he facilities which has delicious burritos and quesadillas etc, and an ice-cream/drinks van too

Agree with some of the comments - if not going for a good few hours the parking will be overpriced at £6 as you park in a field, so recommendation is to go early and spend all day there

What a great day out, especially for rock pooling and adventuring! The beach is tucked into the cove so sheltered from the wind and honestly one of the best spots on the coast
