Of course not! That’s why if you find yourself anywhere Uzes, France you simply must sign up for one of Petra Carter’s cooking classes. Even if you are a non-cook like I was, I promise you will not regret it. Petra is the kind of warm personality who becomes a friend for life in a matter of hours. And her stories, her cooking skills, her shopping tips, and her “joie de vivre” are informative and infectious. You will keep you smiling at the memory of this experience for weeks! I can’t wait to try out my new recipes and cooking skills at my next hosted cocktail party. Thank you, Petra, for an amazing experience!

We spent a wonderful day with Petra and did the Dishes of Provence Class. Petra is extremely knowledgeable and was able to adjust her teaching to the variety of levels of the participants. The food was delicious and she is a great story teller, full of life. The whole experience was very inspiring. I highly recommend her classes.

I had such a great day with Petra and 5 other people that I got to know. Petra introduced us to beautiful and delicious recipes typical of Provencal gastronomy. I particularly liked the stuffed zucchini flowers and strawberry and pastis dessert (so simple and so good!). Petra also shared with us several historical facts surrounding Provencal cuisine as well as culinary tips. I learned how to cut fresh herbs correctly! In short, I recommend this course to all curious foodies.

What a wonderful experience! I have always wanted to try a cooking class but as a Vegetarian it can be difficult to find one that is suitable. All the dishes created on this occasion were Vegetarian and most importantly were delicious. If you are visiting the area and want to learn how to make and cook typical Provençal dishes then you should treat yourself to one of the many course run by the charismatic Petra.
Today I did the Provençal course but there are lots to choose from on the website.
Today we made Tartare of Tomatoes, a Tarte Soleil with Black Olive Tapenade, Fleurs de Courgette Farcies, Orange & Fennel Salad followed by Strawberries with Pastis & Black Pepper. We also learned some cooking and cutting techniques, how to make Fresh Cheese and Petra suggested some Marinading ideas. The best thing, apart from meeting so many new people from across the world, was sitting down to eat it all with lots (and lots) of Wine. It was (if I say so myself) absolutely delicious. I cannot recommend it enough ! To be very honest I can't believe I made these!!!!

Petra was a fantastic host and teacher. Her knowledge and world experiences were a pleasure to listen to. She was ably assisted by Michelle and the day was topped off with a wonderful long lunch with lovely wines.

Petra is very knowledgeable about all things Provençal. The course was very informative and gave me lots of ideas for cooking delicious Provençal food. The confit of new season garlic is something all keen cooks should have in their kitchen. I have already prepared a large jar to use in summer recipes. Absolutely delicious.

Amazing experience!! Petra and Michelle were kind and knowledgeable. The lessons were all hands on and the food was incredible. It was like a dinner out with good friends and I am taking home knowledge of delicious French cuisine.

We brought a group of 12 couples to Uzes as part of a marriage improvement tour.
We worked with Petra in four groups learning to cook french cuisine. And then enjoyed the wonderful meal we had created together. The food and experience was absolutely amazing! The food was simple enough to prepare and tasted incredible. In addition, Petra was really fun and had the perfect energy. We all had a wonderful time and I hope to do it again some day!

Le Pistou in Uzes was amazing!! My wife and I attended a class with two other couples who were our friends and we loved it! Petra and Michelle were so kind and warm. We loved how they explained everything about the culture and food in the region. They gave all of us plenty of opportunities to do the preparing of the food. Everything was incredibly delicious. Overall it was one of the highlights of our trip to France!
