What a fantastic day we had! It was such a great activity, and I’m so pleased we did it.
We booked for the four of us to celebrate someone’s birthday, and I have to say, Michael made the day extra special for the occasion.
Our guide was Michael Fournaris, and he’s an incredible man. He was so personable, taking the time to learn our names and sharing stories about his life. He was charismatic, charming, and funny, instantly putting us at ease, which was great since we had a few nervous first-timers in the group. He’s also extremely skilled at what he does. My wife and I have ridden before, but we didn’t receive the level of training or explanation that Michael gave us. He was thorough, informative, and made the experience even more special with his personal touch—chatting with all of us, stopping for a drink at the Lighthouse Beach Bar, showing us some magic tricks, and going the extra mile for the birthday celebration with a card from him and his adorable dog, Lola.
The trip itself was fantastic, though we did have a couple of minor hiccups (but we’re a very easy-going group!). The police stopped Michael during our training session—the first time he’s been stopped in over five years! We also encountered a rather difficult guy who decided to stand in the middle of the path and completely ignored the many (MANY) bell rings from Michael, then had the nerve to have a go at him! But none of this dampened our spirits. Michael took us through the harbor and along the coastal path, past Lighthouse Beach, and up towards what I believe was the Elysium Hotel before heading back. It was a beautiful day—so hot and sunny, with incredible views of the sea. Michael also took some great pictures and a couple of excellent videos, which are wonderful digital memories.
I honestly couldn’t recommend this enough.
