Had a fantastic time here! Was fantastic to learn more about the New Zealand kiwifruit industry. A great tour with a knowledgeable tour guide, would recommend a visit

Very enjoyable. My daughters loved riding in the kiwi carriages. Learnt heaps about the growing of kiwi fruit. Staff were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

This was a very enjoyable and fascinating visit. The guide was very informative and enthusiastic. Would love to go back in late spring/summer when flowers and fruit are blooming and growing.

Very worth going. Gives us a good understanding of how a kiwi orchard runs the business and all the efforts the growers put into the industry. My boys loved the ride on the kiwi trailer around the orchard. We also bought the kiwi ice cream and cookies and finished them quickly.

We visited yesterday and got a personalised tour. It was absolutely fascinating and learnt a lot about what it takes to consistently produce high quality kiwifruit. Gavin was very informative and helpful responding to our many questions. Great to see the kauri tree plantation too - this is a real asset to the area.

Our visit to the Kiwifruit Country orchard was a truly satisfying experience. Our expert guide (and kiwi-mobile driver) spoke earnestly and clearly to the visitors, who were from European non-English speaking countries, but were able to understand him perfectly. He answered all questions in ways that also anticipated other questions. Everyone left satisfied that they had seen something unique to this part of the world learning also about the history and development of the industry.
The inevitable retail outlet was not at all tacky, offering a quite extensive range of related food products, and was staffed by patient and knowledgeable young assistants.
Highly recommended way to spend an hour or two.

Went with my three teenagers and my mother who was visiting from South Africa.
The guide was full of knowledge and we learned a lot from him regarding a working Kiwi Orchard.
Got to taste some samples and have the best Real fruit Kiwi Ice cream.

This place should be on the top of your list! Not only do you get to ride around in a kiwi-kart (seriously underrated fun) to see a HUGE farm, but the people are so nice. Our tour guide, Hugh, was extremely knowledgeable and gave a wonderful tour. Not only was he super helpful with answering questions for people who didn’t know much about agriculture, let alone small-scale gardening, he answered my esoteric questions as I have a background in ag. Their gift shop also has a bevy of delicious jams, hot sauces, and chutneys (the savory kiwi chutney is superb) and other fun items. It was a great stop and we almost didn’t go, but my cousin said we had to go try the ruby kiwis (which aren’t in season and are totally brand new).
A lot of tour books list the place as Kiwi 360 and they show the big ginormous kiwi. This is the same place, BUT they don’t have the giant kiwi sign anymore due to them moving and something about the other property owner not letting them take the sign. All I know is that this is totally the best kiwi fruit tour you’ll get.
And on your way out, grab a cold golden kiwi fruit shot drink for the road- they’re quite tasty!

I can recommend this 1 hour tour for tourist who would like to get familiar with kiwi fruit history and production.

Past by this this Kiwifruit Orchard and went on a guided informative tour. Learnt a few things about kiwifruit farming that I had no idea about. Lovely gift shop and got some ice cream afterwards. Happy to return again, recommended

We are planning trip driving down from Hobbiton Movie Set to Rotorua on 20 June this year (with 3 kids age 7, 4 and 2 yo). Can anyone advise if anything worth visit on this date to make a de-route to Paengaroa since it is getting into Winter? If yes what’s the recommended duration spending there? Thanks a lot

Hi there, The kiwifruit orchard tour takes approx. 45 mins usually abit longer. The kiwi karts are covered on top, but if it is raining it up to you if you still want to go. We have kiwifruit products to try in the tasting room afterwards. Nearby (1km) is Experience Comvita the Manuka Honey centre, which is also a good place to see if your in this area. Also, weather dependant but Okere Falls is only 20 mins from here. A great place to take a short bush walk and view waterfalls, usually with rafters going over the falls.
