Sevenhills is an historic winery and boasts an amazing site. Wines were all very fine and loved the sparkling trialing - ready for Christmas!! Thank you Kath for a patient and informative tasting.

An amazing man with a wealth of local history knowledge and an easy going
nature , was such a fun filled trip to local boutique wineries and an amazing lunch at Paulette’s winery topped of with dinner at Seven hills pub with amazing hospitality from the staff great food and an awesome array cocktails

We ended up in Clare valley a bit by serendipity . Driving from Coober Pedy and Port Augusta to Adelaide we wanted to stay in Barossa Valley much better known to us. The beauty of Clare Valley made us stop right there and explore the area. We stayed in Clare and toured the many attractions of countryside. And there is a lot to see. Wineries with there tastings, lovely vineyards, the monastery, beautiful countryside and the town of Clare itself.
The valley can be explored on foot, by car, on bike. Scenic and very interesting towns including Mintaro, good restaurants, Spring Gully Conservation Reserve, Riesling biking trail and so much more!

The area is pretty and there are many good vineyards and wineries. The area is renowned for its riesing and there are some good ones around. Worth spending some time here.

This is not your average looking wine region. Very dry looking, lots of large paddocks of hay bales right next door to vineyards. There is a lot to see and do, with wine tastings on offer and some specialty stores/producers to see. Must visit Seven hills cellars, the grounds are magnificent.

Clare valley is beautiful. I stayed for 4 days and had something to fill in each day. It is a wine taster's dream.

Clare Valley is one of the great wine regions of the world, producing top shelf Riesling and hosting some of the best cellar doors you will see. The people are friendly and accommodation is easy to find. We will be going again for sure to finish off cycling the Riesling trail. A must for anyone looking to getaway to amazing countryside

Clare Valley has a host of great Wineries known for their Riesling wine! Well worth the effort to visit and wine taste as many as you can possibly fit in!

Over 72 hours I tasted about 80 different wines throughout the Clare Valley and discovered a place different to my expectations.
With the new road it's quicker and easier to drive from Adelaide: only a little longer than to the Barossa Valley. Possible to "do the Clare" in a long day, but better overnight and best over 3–7 days. In case you're afraid of getting bored, you can always go to the nearby Barossa, but you won't.
It's compact but densely packed with established and new wineries. The principal attractions are on or just off the single main road which is 15 minutes drive from one end to the other: you can't get lost. Otherwise, it's another 15 minutes at either extremity to the more far-flung wineries. Beware that TripAdvisor map directions are often wrong.
Wineries typically have an enormous tasting selection. I had to confine myself to 6 wines at each winery otherwise I exhausted my palate. It was quite normal to have 12 different wines available to taste, and sometimes more.
The tour at Sevenhill winery is full of history, agriculture, religion, and education. One of the better winery tours I have taken in the world. Bookings essential.
Some fine eating is available. Good quality food using local ingredients with professional and warm hospitality are typical of the more up-market eateries, and those attached to wineries. Consider breakfast, brunch, or lunch at Skillogalee and lunch or afternoon tea at Paulett Wines on Polish Hill. Dinner is at Seed in Clare town under chef Guy's loving hand.
Learn from my mistake and drop into the local tourism office on arrival. Talk to the friendly local staff who will efficiently steer you where you want to go. They remind me of the outstanding government tourism office in Queenstown New Zealand: impartial, knowledgeable, and committed to showing you a great time.
I went solo and had a blast. Go with friends and rejoice in the good life.
