Had such an amazing time at the Hamilton Sculpture Park - we went for one of the many craft workshops they host and got to meet so many creative, talented people and try Saori weaving for the first time.
It was such a memorable experience learning something new in the peaceful surrounds the sculpture park has to offer.
Thank you for organising Sue, and for being such a welcoming host. I'd recommend their workshops to anyone.

We had such a lovely relaxed afternoon wandering around these gardens for a few hours. Quite different to your typical structured museum-type experience. You can spend as long or as little time as you like exploring the grounds enjoying the natural surroundings and finding art where you didn’t expect it. We visited on a drizzly afternoon but the rain didn’t lessen our enjoyment. The staff were warm and friendly, happy to have a chat or leave us to head off on our wanderings. I’m glad my husband found this place and added it to our itinerary, we both very much enjoyed our time meandering through here. You can see a lot of work and love has gone in to making this place what it is

What a great find. Very peaceful. The sculptures are ok, but it’s actually the walk that was great. Well worth making a detour for. Muddy in places, so spare shoes might be a good idea.

We had an easy cycle ride out to the Sculpture Park from Cambridge not realising how great this place is. We were welcomed by the volunteers at the Park and given an overview of the history and how the Park has evolved to where it is now. We were also given written information as a guide as we wandered through the Park. what an amazing place and a tribute to those that had the vision to transform an old …..relatively lifeless quarry to a flourishing space of regeneration, plantings, birdlife, easy tracks to navigate and the added addition of beautiful sculptures that highlighted the transformation of this space to one full and mindfully caring for our environment.
What an amazing place to visit. We will back with our mokopuna as this is a place that is an interactive and fun place for children to visit.
One visit is not enough!

We really enjoyed our visit to the sculpture park. We wandered around the pathways spotting the quirky sculptures and admiring the trees and flowers in the sunshine. We met the owner and had a chat about how the place has evolved over time - he was very friendly. It’s good to know that the sculptures change every now and we thought it would be nice to go back in a different season.

What a gem of a place to visit. So different and well designed with the added Ruru sculpture hunt to help focus on the walk, Such varied planting which was so lovely with the variegation of there autumn leaves. Wonderful hospitality for our group with delicious lunch and carrot cake. What vision this couple had to see the transformation from a quarry to such a place of beauty

I went with my mum and 2 aunties and we all enjoyed it. Trying to find all the owls was fun and I found 11 out of 14. Took a heap of photos and was a lovely morning walk. Probably not the best for people with bad knees.

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Hamilton, New Zealand, The Sculpture Park is more than just an art gallery. It's a captivating blend of nature and creativity, offering a unique experience for visitors of all ages.
Carved from a disused quarry, the park boasts a 2km nature trail winding through a landscape of vibrant trees (over 20,000!), scenic ponds, and rocky cliffs. But the true stars of the show are the over 100 sculptures and installations scattered throughout the grounds. Each piece, crafted by talented New Zealand artists, tells a story, sparks the imagination, and invites contemplation.
Wandering through the park feels like stepping into a living museum. From whimsical figures hidden amongst the foliage to thought-provoking installations that challenge perspectives, the sculptures seamlessly integrate with their natural surroundings. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a relaxing escape, The Sculpture Park has something for everyone.
Beyond the visual feast, the park offers a variety of activities. Families can embark on a treasure hunt, solving riddles to discover hidden gems throughout the park. The park also hosts events throughout the year, adding an extra layer of engagement and community spirit.
The Sculpture Park is a testament to the transformative power of art and nature. It's a place to reconnect with the environment, unleash your creativity, and appreciate the beauty of New Zealand's artistic landscape.

Unfortunately it pelted with rain for much of our wander around the impressive gardens and unusual sculptures. But we enjoyed our time nonetheless, even if the walkways were a bit confusing. Shame the loos were thunderboxes though

A former quarry has been turned into an arboretum combined with sculpture park. It was beautiful and interesting and peaceful all at the same time. It only takes an hour or two once you get there, but it’s worth it
