The theater and the building itself are absolutely beautiful. During the tour "SHELTERS AND DUNGEONS - THE MOST SECRET PLACES OF THE THEATER", we got to know all the places of the theater that you cannot normally enter during the performance. It was very interesting to learn about the intricacies and details of the theater, touch the costumes and be in the place of the actors. This building housed a theater for almost 200 years. Burned down and rising again from the ashes, restored and reconstructed, today it decorates the Klaipėda Theater Square and gathers theater fans of all ages, surprising not only with excellent theater productions, but also with the valuable collection of works of art inside the theater.

This is the new theater that replaced the old one on the square. It’s a much more modern looking building and is important to preserve the arts.

One of the best theatres in such a full theatre country like Lithuania. There are many stages, a very strong and diverse repertoire, a talented artistic staff and a true good management. All the Halle’s are decorated and are very comfortable for audience. The theatre organize a festival and could unite numerous of high end companies and professionals from all over the world.
If you are in Lithuania, find time and go to Klaipeda to watch excellent performances.

올드 타운에서 가장 올드적인 느낌을 주던 곳. 그곳 극장 광장에는 소녀상이 있었고 그 뒤로 단아한 극장 건물이 있었다. 예사롭지 않은 건축물이다. 공연은 보지 못했다.

This is an old and beautiful building located in the Theater Square where the Anne of Tharau fountain could be found nearby. The balcony of this historical theater was the exact spot where Hitler delivered his speech in 1939.

Klaipėdos opera house was under construction so we were watching opera Jolanta at drama theater. The opera was amazing and the theater had subtitles in couple different languages including English.

Occupies a prominent position in a beautiful cobbled market square opposite Nese Casino/Irish Bar. It is only a short walk from the Canal which is littered with bars, tourist attractions and coffee shops.
Well worth a visit, even to just walk around exploring the beautiful architecture of the Old Town centre.

Очень красивое здание драмтеатра находится на центральной площади города, странно, что это не собор!
Изначально театр назывался домом комедии и располагался у стен Мемельского замка. Нынешнее здание было построена в 18 веке, во время оккупации Клайпеды Германией театр не работал, но стал известен тем, что с его балкона перед жителями Мемеля выступал Гитлер.
После войны театр возобновил свою работу в 1946 году и сюда был направлен актёрский курс ГИТИСа.
В этом театре с 1946 по 1948 годы служил Анатолий Папанов!
