I had an amazing experience visiting this memorial museum on Liberation Day. The plight of the Martyrs happened a few months before I was born, so visiting shortly after the 32nd anniversary of Kuwait's liberation felt extra special and relevant.

The house has been well preserved and stands as a powerful monument of sacrifice for freedom, and is quite something to behold in an otherwise ordinary neighbourhood. But what made the visit special was the interactions I had with visitors and staff, who were keen to share the history and explain what happened to me in surprisingly fluent English. Not only this, but I received help with travel directions and local transport information. To top my visit, the widows of a few of the Martyrs were serving coffee and cakes, which were delicious, and made me feel very welcome. All of this after free entry! Definitely a must-visit museum!

Place that reminds us of the events of 90s. Its in the middle of a current neighbourhood so don't be surprised if you are driving and GPS brings you into a current neighbourhood.

It is a place that is a memory of a war, so its not for everyone.

I would suggest 30 minutes max for this attraction, so definitely plan to do other things on the day you are visiting this museum.

Her tarafını gezmesi 1 saate yakın sürüyor.

This is an important piece of history for Kuwait and very interesting to see.

A brochure is provided for English speakers and this well worth reading.

It is free to get in and I'd recommend a visit.

This museum is the site of Kuwait's "Alamo". In the Persian Gulf War, this is the location where about 19 members of Kuwait's resistance fought off Saddam Hussein's much more heavily armored Republican Guard. The Kuwaiti resistance had simple guns. The Republican Guard had tanks, heavy artillery, and more advanced weapons. Despite this, the Kuwaitis staved off the Republican Guard soldiers for about 10 hours. A few Kuwaitis escaped. The rest are considered martyrs. The building is important for its historical significance. The museum also highlights the hundreds of Kuwaiti martyrs who, over time, resisted Saddam's tyrannical rule. The museum displays a letter on the wall from General Norman Schwarzkopf, Commander of Coalition Forces in the Persian Gulf War, in which he states that he wishes his army had arrived four (4) days earlier, so that this tragedy might have been avoided. The museum displays other letters from Saddam’s regime ordering that any members of the Kuwaiti resistance be detained and killed, including children. Guidebooks are available in English and Arabic. Two museum employees escorted me around the museum, and, although they did not speak much English, we managed to communicate effectively. They made me feel welcome there, despite my arriving in the pitch dark on a Friday evening, an onslaught of rain, and the roof flooding through to the floor in buckets.

A nice, small museum about Iraq's attack on Kuwait. The place in which the Kuwaiti partisans and heroes defended their homeland.

You can see bomb holes here and the tank from which this place was fired.

There is also very nice security guy who will tell you everything about this place - unfortunatelly in Arabic.

In order not to make him sorry, please listen to everything and pretend to understand.
