Visited during the last week of June '24. Good 6 hour trip off resort. Clear, clean waterfall with large pool for wading at the end of short hike. Bring cash. Trail well maintained and easy to trek during dry weather. Concrete path with option for horseback travel. Enjoyed learning about the fauna and wildlife along the way. Cava ceremony and handicraft market upon arrival. Don't miss spending time at the elementary school on the way.

Beautiful walk up to stunning waterfall.
Well worth the time - had a great swim at the top before a casual walk back down

Tips:
Wear your swimmers up - they tell you there is a changing room - there is a muddy box on the side of the hill

Wear good shoes that you don’t mind getting wet - you have to cross 7 rocky fords - protect your feet and ankles

Take snacks! Lots of time to have a swim and a picnic at the top.

We got several different prices for the hike and the horse ride - from exactly the same guy! Allow at least $35 for the entry and $50 of you want to ride a horse - those were the higher end prices quoted - and take cash

Dee was our guide and showed us the way along a narrow, mainly concrete path, crossing the safe river numerous times to the waterfall. It’s off the beaten track but worth the visit.

We took a day trip from a resort on the Coral Coast, booked it through our driver from the airport to the resort. There was a 25FJD/person entrance fee (a surprise to us) and they showed us some touristy souvenirs for sale. They assigned us a guide to the waterfall, just the 2 of us, didn't need to wait and be part of a larger group. The hike is mostly a narrow paved path through jungle, but several muddy areas and several stream crossings with rocky bottoms. The waterfall itself was great, refreshingly cold water after the hike. Parts of the pool were shallow and it got deeper the closer you got to the falls. We spent maybe 45 minutes to 1 hour there and were told me needed to go back.

Just a side note - be careful of the drivers you hire, we thought we were doing a waterfall outing and our driver insisted on taking us into town and to a pottery studio first. I understand that's how they spread the wealth but it was a bit of a surprise and a time crunch.

We self drove to the village. Paid FJD 20/adult and FJD 10/kids. Drunk kava. Hiked with a lovely guide. Walked bare foot most of the way as there is a concrete path and sandy bottoms in creek crossings.

We self drive to the community hall in the village. Then participates in the welcome ceremony. Then the 9 year old got on a horse and the adults walked up to the waterfall. It took about 40 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace. Crossing the river multiple times. It was very refreshing. Our guide Alfred showed us all the different plants and their uses. And lots of information about the village and the area. The waterfall was beautiful and the swimming was good.

It’s best to wear reef/beach shoes rather than thongs.

Nice easy hike to waterfall. Cross the stream about 9 times, so need good water shoes with secure backs ( Keens, etc.). Not flip flops. Fun swim in the pool at the base of the waterfall. Some were climbing the cliff at the base of the falls and jumping in, but I wouldn’t recommend that as the water is not deep. A local guide is required, so make arrangements in advance.

We opted to go with horses as it was raining and offered. We loved every minute of this tour and the horses were very chill. Great experience and bring cash to purchase souvenirs from the locals upon entry.

Wonderful experience! Nice shady activity on a sunny day. Our local guide from the village was very knowledgeable and all our kids thought she was amazing when she demonstrated how to jump from the rocks around the fall. The water was cool and refreshing. Highly recommended!!

We drove to the waterfall in our rental car. It takes 2 hours from Denarau but the time went quickly. You follow Google maps and you turn off the main road just at the village which takes you to the waterfall along a dirt /gravel windy road. You reach the community hall where the locals are waiting to take you to the waterfall. You can either walk (by yourself) or opt for a horse for $50FJD. It is well worth the horse ride as you don't have to go through the 7 creek crossings! Before you leave they will do a welcome ceremony in the hall and you MUST drink the Kava 🤮! The local home have all their wares out for you to buy. Whilst I like to support the locals , everything was more expensive than at port Denarau. There is a $25FJD entry fee also to the waterfall. You need cash for all these things. At the waterfall the guides ( who are carrying your bag whilst you ride the horse) will wait for you whilst you swim. It is incredible refreshing! They will also help you climb the rock wall and jump in if you are brave enough. Against my better judgement I let my 17 yo daughter do it but she survived unscathed! There is a tiny change room where you can get rid of your wet swimmers and ride back in comfort. A very worthwhile trip! On the way back we stopped at the Outrigger hotel 35 mins down the road. They have restaurants open all day so you sit looking at the beach and having a late lunch !
