I was really shocked to see SIAL 2020 in this exhibition centre few weeks ago.
I am not sure, who made that decision. But it was definitely not a good one and actually killed the show for 2020.
NECC is huge and a very complicated exhibition centre. It's new. But that's not the problem. the challenge is moving around and make the show productive. Its a common complain from almost everybody.
This year, SIAL was very small and almost no foreigners or foreign companies from overseas. The show was full of domestic companies.
Next year, SIAL 2021 will move back to SNIEC, a home of SIAL for many summers.

National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is a huge venue. Still its very new. Everybody is getting use to this place slowly. NECC (Shanghai) used to be a terrible place not too long ago. It used to be very difficult to move around during a trade show. But its getting better, especially, after the prestigious CIIE (China International Import Expo) last year, NECC (Shanghai) got a big face lift. Now, its much better than before but still a long way to go. Hopefully, after the CIIE this year, NECC will emerge as one of the best venue in the world for trade shows.
I just came back from NECC last night after the Intertextile 2019. It was a great show this year. One of the best trade show, Ive ever seen in this venue. All hotels are almost sold out during the show. It was the 25th Anniversary edition. So, the organizer Messe Frankfurt added few extra events to make Intertextile 2019 more colorful.

今天在这里参加活动，也是第一次到这里，因为上海好多地方不让开live了 这里慢慢变得热门起来，但是真的太远了，然后也太大了，其他看下来还是不错的，只是无法选择更优秀的罢了

とにかく広く、また上の階フロアもあるので迷子になりそうです。
一階に飲食店もいくつかありますが、そこまで辿り着くのが大変です。また、イベント時にはトイレが込みますので要注意です。

タクシーでアプローチしましたが、会場周辺での渋滞を抜けるのだけに30分以上かかりました。南広場からのアプローチがオススメです。中の施設として、飲食店は充実しているのですが、席は足りません。早めに昼食をとることがオススメです。

Es ist riesig und modern und auch langsam fertig. Trotzdem mag ich das alte Messegelände in Pudong lieber. Die Verkehrsführung ist ein Horror hier - auch das Ankommen mit der Metro. Die Metro ist immer überfüllt - erst recht zur Rush-Hour. Wenn man mit dem Zug ankomt oder mit einem Inlandsflug nach Hongquiao liegt das Messegelände sehr nahe. Es gibt noch einiges zu verbessern!

First of all , it's huge .located rightly outside east xuijing station , buy you have to walk a bit. I was really confused as to where to get taxi from , so I had to commute through metro which was a bit time consuming but overall huge and properly managed .

excellent exhibition center with all facilities of dining, washrooms, and transport up to the mark, the management is excellent and handle huge crowds efficiently

展示場か12ホールあり周辺道路は大渋滞。我々は5ホールに行きたいんだけど駐車場入り口ば閉鎖されてる。周りば混んでるけど中はそうでもないのに、どーしても12ホールから車は回るように警備員が言う。仕方なく途中路上駐車して歩いて入ったけど。結局時間がなくて30分しか展示場見れなかった。

Does this exhibition center has luggage storage area? we might need to leave for the airport from the exhibition center, hence will need to bring the luggage along.

there are usually pop up cafe and food outlets, i did not remember seeing any proper restaurants ....
