Amazing experience available to all levels of swimmers / snorkellers. The dive to enter is only short and the entrance is massive so no need for worrying if you can do it. Ideally best to experience as a snorkeller but not necessary if thats not your bag as once inside the cave the cathederal like interior is awesome with columns of light striking through the hole in the cave's roof. If snorkelling have a good look around as I saw a lot of interesting fish that presumably use the cave as a place of refuge and safety. Although amazing don't forget to take time to snorkel around outside the cave as the species of coral and fish are abundant and you can swim quite far out as the reef is really quite big. Whether you truch in by road or take an excursion by boat this really is a not to be missed affair.

The trip to Blue Cave was magic. A pod of about 20 dolphins joined the boat on the way up. Blue cave was divine. Had a lovely morning exploring the cave and also seeing the hole from above.

Wonderful place if sun shines through thehole

The dive through the overhanging rock is short and easy. In the cave magnificent lighting fascinates one. The sun rays are like beams and are reflected by the white sand on the bottom.

干潮時を狙ってツアーが催行されるそうですが、今回は全くの干潮ではなかったので、洞窟の入り口が塞がっており、潜るのに勇気がいりました。実際は3秒ぐらい息を止めれば潜れます。
勇気を出した後は別世界。とても楽しい思い出になりました。

It took just over an hour to travel by truck from Lenakel Town to the Blue Cave.

Low tide is the best time to access the cave if you are not a confident diver, as the water level drops below the limestone cave and allows you see into the cave itself.

There were fishing rods available for hire and comfy bungalows to rest under the shade.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and waterproof camera to capture all the memories.

幻想的な世界が広がる

料金は少しお高めですが、行く価値のある場所です。
最初に連れて行かれたときは、現地人達が飛び込みを楽しんでいるただの岩肌にしか見えず戸惑ったのですが、その岩の壁の下に穴があいており、そこを潜ると現像的な青の洞窟の世界が広がっています。
少しの時間ですが自分で潜水する必要があるので全く泳げない人は行くのは難しいかもです。
濡れると困る荷物はボートに置いておけます。
小魚も泳いでいるので、ぜひ防水のカメラを持ってシュノーケリングも楽しむことをお勧めします。

行ってよかった！幻想的な青い世界

行ってよかったスポットです。
ホワイトグラス の船着場からボートのツアーで行きました。(1人 9000バツ)
入り口が分かりにくいですがボートのお兄さんが頭をぶつけないよう水の中に押し込んでくれるので大丈夫です。
ツアーと言えども客は私たち2人だけで貸切状態で楽しめました。
完全に潜らないと入れないので、防水でないものは持っていけません。ボートの道中でもそれなりに濡れます。

Awesome experience

We organised the visit to the Blue Caves on Tanna through Whiteheads resort. We caught a small boat from their jetty and travelled for about 40 minutes to the Cave. The boat staff and local guys helping visitors at the cave were brilliant. The Cave was amazing and we we're lucky to get the sun shining fully through the opening for an amazing effect in the cave and on the water. The only thing that I think could have made the trip better was an option to stay longer and explore the coastline a little bit which could then lead to an opportunity for the local village to provide some food and refreshments for tourists. All I all a great trip though.

My seven-year-old daughter loves caves. She loves to swim. She loves dolphins. She got all three on this tour. A pod of dolphins rode the bow wake of our six-meter dinghy on the hour-long trip to the Blue Cave. I was a little concerned about my daughter swimming into the cave, but it worked out. There was three feet of clearance from the top of the water to the top of the cave entrance at low tide. (It was four days past full moon.) There was a strong current coming out of the cave. I did not have my flippers thanks to Air Vanuatu’s 10 kilo checked-bag limit. The flippers provided by the tour operator did not fit me, so I wore my sandals. My daughter had a float from the tour operator strapped to her back. She could not fight the current by herself. So I dragged her through. I got a cramp in my right hamstring but I kept swimming. After I was inside, I climbed out on a rock and worked the cramp out. I took the float off of my daughter so she could free dive, which she does pretty well. We saw sweepers, squirrel fish, a soldier fish, flagtails and a school of goat fish.The interior of the cave is as beautiful as people say. It is a karst sinkhole that has become flooded with seawater. My daughter loved it. We had no problem swimming back out with the current. By that time my daughter needed a toilet. We climbed up a ladder that is fixed to the cliff outside the cave. There is a small building at the top that looked like a toilet, but it was not. So I sent her behind the building to relieve herself. One boat had already left by that time, but our boat waited for us. None of the tour guides went into the cave with us, and it really was not clear when the tour was supposed to be over. Everyone just started leaving. The ride back to the White Grass wharf was rough and cold and wet, but my daughter was laughing half the way. She really had a good day.

Bit of adventure

Getting into the cave at high tide is adventurous but once in there not too exciting, no fish or coral. If you’re brave enough you can jump from the top of the rocks into the sea. Long ride out to to cave from White Grass. Wouldn’t do it again but guess it is a bucket list thing
