Worth a visit
jul. de 2021
Packed with information about the French River waterway, and (when open again) an informative history museum about the area. Also a lovely little gift shop.

Great rest stop!
oct. de 2019 • Familia
Approximately 3 hours from Toronto, at the political border between Northern and Southern Ontario, this is a great place to stretch your legs and do some hikes. Unfortunately, the bridge is closed. There was a huge No Trespassing sign and Trail Closed sign as well.

The gift shop is large though. A lot of swag to be sold. So large they also have a clearance section too.

You have to pay to get to the exhibit. Not sure why. But regardless, it's a beautiful visitor centre.

Interesting artifacts and information about the history of the local area. Museum is free if you have a valid park permit. Nice way to spend an hour.

Uneducated Opportunity
jun. de 2018 • Familia
As a cottage owner on the French River waterway I try very hard to educate young and old on the true written history of this magnificent river.
When I had my niece and nephew up at the cottage to experience first hand just what a cottage/camp is and all it’s beautiful surroundings, I wanted to share more knowledge to them. Sadly, CLOSED was the educational sign of the day.
It was the beginning of summer and the traffic in was steady but the adventure was little. Not sure why or what happened to cause it to be closed (we hadn’t had that fire #33 yet) , so no idea why!!
It’s a almost self educational spot, wish I’d been living north and hired to be a casual staff to open when no one else wishes to work.
Hoping their next stay can be historical educational!

Great way to spend a rainy day!
jun. de 2018 • Familia
My family has been vacationing on the French River for over 50 years. We usually save a visit to the Visitor's Centre for a trip on a rainy day. There are nice restroom facilities inside, a gift shop and a museum. Entrance to the museum used to be free, but now there is a fee.
There's also a trail you can follow that will take you down to Recollet Falls or you can follow the shorter trail across the snowmobile bridge that literally spans the French River. No matter how many times we visit, we always enjoy a stop at the Visitor's Centre.

Wonderful stop on a road trip
oct. de 2018 • Familia
A great place to stop and stretch your legs. Lovely to see the bridge and the water; the fall colours were beautiful and our three teenage boys had lots of fun climbing the rocks and hiking down to the water. A great place to stop for a break; just off the highway and free.

When travelling North on Hwy 69, a stop here is always a must! Love the hike to the waterfall, enjoy the view from the snowmobile bridge. Always clean, friendly staff.

Excellent museum and gift shop, do the hike!
ago. de 2017 • Familia
The hike down to the falls is the highlight- you won't be disappointed if you go.
The museum is excellent, and you can spend a fair amount of time if you read and listen to the recordings.

Worth the stop

Modern building set in the woods. Small gift shop and friendly staff. We enjoyed the museum and could have stayed longer to take it all in. The 30 minute hike to the rapids is a great for stretching your legs and for a lunch stop.

Beautiful scenery and a lovely walk
oct. de 2016 • Parejas
This was our whole reason for making a 3 hour drive.

Drive in,
park,
visit the Center(if it's open),
2 minute walk to the bridge.
Enjoy
