I arrived on the evening of 02 Jul 24, got a little bit lost, but Lola drove out to collect me. I received a warm welcome and a nice and warm room. The hospitality of Lola is on another level. It was really worth booking here even if if just for an overnight stay.

Wonderful experience with great hosts and a big sparkling swimming pool!
Great accommodation equipped for BBQ's and outdoor living which even has a jacuzzi.
Great award-winning Wines and wine tasting are the name of the game. Nice chilled atmosphere and a wonderful family.
Thank you to all for a very special few days, see you again!

I visited here as part of a wine flies tour. This was a smaller vineyard making higher quality Bordeaux style wines. I enjoyed the tasting in the cellar of the owners home. A cheese plate accompanied our tasting.

We stopped at this winery on a tour with Wine Flies. The cellar tasting with cheese pairing was exceptional. Our sommelier was very friendly and explained their wines, along with the paired cheeses. We found their wines to be exceptional and actually shipped several cases home. This winery was one of our favorites!

We really enjoyed our visit to this boutique wine estate. The owners are very friendly and so are their dogs. Enjoyed a cheese pairing, and it was great. We also bought some cabernet franc.

Not well sign posted and the road id dodgy, but the wine and cheese pairing is one of the best. To make it better still, the pairing is delivered by the wine maker herself. Find this gem!

My Wife and I had visited the wine lands of the Western Cape back in 2016 where we had stayed in a little B&B in Franschhoek. This time we decided to stay on a Wine Estate in Stellenbosch with our 16month old Daughter. Mitre's Edge Wine Estate from the outset was the best choice for us.
From the moment we arrived; we were made to feel at home and as such we were comfortable and relaxed in the next chapter of our family holiday. The Pool House offered a great area for us as a family to have our own space and to play board games, watch TV and to use it as a base to which we were able to explore the wine farm and surrounding area. During our stay we also had the opportunity to have a private Wine and Cheese Pairing session, which we absolutely loved and subsequently bought two bottles of wine and the associated cheeses. A must if you have the opportunity to visit.
If you're looking for family friendly, children friendly, good wine and great hospitality - then Mitre's Edge Wine Estate is top of that list. My family will most definitely be staying at Mitre's Edge Wine Estate again in the future and we have already recommended it to a number of friends who are considering Stellenbosch for their South Africa trips in the future. I just hope this review makes you want to choose it too.

Just back from another trip to Stellenbosch and once again Mitres Edge did not disappoint! By far my favourite boutique winery experience, you feel like family the moment you walk through the door! It isn't often you are welcomed by the owner and wine maker herself and Lola's tastings are spell binding! Her knowledge, professionalism and sense of humour make an amazing wine tasting experience. However, if you don't have Lola taking your wine tasting, don't worry! Alex and all the wine guru's at Mitres Edge have learnt from the best and are equally as engaging.
The cheese and wine experience is fantastic, whether downstairs in the picturesque cellar or in the ornate dining room - you can't bypass Mitres Edge! If you love dogs, you are in for a treat! Seven friendly dogs ranging in size from a Jack Russel to an Irish Wolfhound, they are quite something!
As for the wine itself - it has won prestigious awards since we were last here and I am not at all surprised! My personal favourites are the Mitre and the Sholto - but they are all excellent! Do yourself a favour and visit this winery and the experience it offers you like no other. Thanks Lola and Bernard - we will be back!

My wife and myself were invited by friends and family to join them for a cheese and wine tasting at Mitre's Edge Wine Estate and boy are we glad we went. The red wines were absolutely phenomenal! Their Sholto Bordeaux style red blend is no.1 on my list of all their great wines and is super silky and smooth. At R250 per bottle It's also very well priced as I've paid upwards of R400 for other Bordeaux blends that don't come near to the quality and love that's been poured into the Sholto.
Thank you Lola and Bernard for the wonderful experience. Mitre's Edge Wine Estate is by far the best wine farm in Stellenbosch!
