We learned a lot about the ranching history of this area and the way they lived. It is incredible how much life has changed here in the last 100 years!.

This is the first homestead home in the valley and it's well maintained and the curators have done a nice job of gathering local history--both Native American and Euro-American--and displaying it in this museum. It takes maybe an hour to read all of the information but it is worth it.

Good displays of history of the Frazer Valley and the evolution of travel to the area beginning with the Utes through trappers, stage coach and railroad and highway. Enjoyed the display about Dr. Susan's early years in the valley. Helpful woman overseeing the museum. Entry fee is $5 or $4 for seniors.

Really well done little museum that helps you understand some history of the Winter Park area. Give yourself about an hour to go through the whole property; a little longer if you are a true history buff.

What a treasure! This is indeed the biggest little museum and so worth the small fee to visit. The manager, Christie and volunteer, David, were extremely hospitable and knowledgeable. They are wonderful ambassadors for the Fraser Valley and this wonderful collection of artifacts from days gone by. Of special note, anyone interested in the life and times Doctor Susan Anderson (Doc Susie) from whom the TV Show Doctor Quinn Medicine Woman is said to be fashioned, will find the Doc Susie Room fascinating. Although she arrived after the death of Sheriff Cozens, many of her medical instruments and tools are on display. The gift shop has an assortment of local and regional history books available for purchase that rivals some of the much larger museums in the state of Colorado. Those who are instrumental in preserving this treasure, hats off to you!

This museum looks small on the outside but it opens into a large space with several rooms. There are excellent exhibitions on Doc Susie, President Eisenhower, and the Ute Indians. The displays and information are surprisingly good. There is a gift shop with great art by local artisans & wonderful rare books. For kids, the museum has an interactive education station & a scavenger hunt. The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. We highly recommend this museum when you're out and about in Winter Park, need to kill an hour or 2, and especially if you enjoy learning about history.

It is the place to go if you want to know how the area developed. I was truly surprised at how much history happened in this area. It is not a large investment in time. It may not be the place to take children. Coming from the east, I inherited a lot of the furnishing from my grandparents, so things were not that old to me, but it was very interesting and certainly a part of the story of our great country.

I visited with my wife today (3/20) just as a way to kill time on a slow day. Man was I surprised when we got inside the museum. This museum has tons of history and detail packed into every room. The attention to details is what set this place apart. The person inside was full of interesting information she was happy to share with us. I would recommend it to anyone who loves history or loves a bit of self-paced fun.
