We were absolutely thrilled with the Spectacle of Light at Welford Park. Even though the walk takes about an hour to an hour and a half, we experienced pure aesthetic pleasure as a family. The variety of lighting beautifully enhances the trees and bushes, and the musical accompaniment adds to the enjoyment. It was amazing! You can tell a lot of effort was put into it, creating a truly magical atmosphere. An unforgettable experience!

A lovely winter day in the pretty expanse of the house gardens and a great, warm tea house with delicious lunch/sweet items served by helpful, smiling people! Kept imagining the Great British Bakeoff (the title in the US) happening here! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that, bummer, because of wet weather, the snowdrops had gone although we were forwarded by the website , but there were lovely bulbs of other sorts. I also had a bit difficulty navigating, as the taxi dropped me off at the 'end'/back gates and didn' see much signage till I was on my way out (through the front gates). I would suggest they add a few more signs throughout, in case you don't go exactly as everyone else does (there were a few of us, I could tell). It was fun to see 'the steps' and dark patch of grass that gets refurbished each year from the Bakeoff! There is a nice, not commercialized gift store. Though it would be cram-packed with Bakeoff 'crap' but was pleasantly surprised! Bought a signed Prue Leith novel and enjoyed the light read! The guard/host at the front gate was immensely helpful getting me a ride back to my village, as I was having difficulty dialing the taxi office. It gave me another chance to have a much needed hot tea and not overly sweet cake! Thank the whole staff for being so pleasant!

Booked on a Friday for visit on the Saturday. Arrived to be told that snowdrops had 'gone over' because of weather conditions. They said they had updated the website which was rubbish because we booked less than 24 hours before the visit. Virtually no snowdrops!!
We did have a nice walk in the sunshine and a pleasant snack in the marquee so it wasn't a totally wasted trip. Just disappointed that we didn't see the snowdrops. Maybe next year.

We visited Welford Park on my wife’s 60th birthday to see the renowned snowdrop display. We’d visited last year - Feb 2023 - and it had been pretty decent, so she’d been looking forward to the date, though had been a little concerned that 23/2 would be ‘late’ in the season. So we waited until 22/2 to book tickets for 5 of us to have a wander - delighted to be able to book the day before and assumed all would be well,
So it was to a lot of dismay that, on arrival, we were advised that the snowdrops were ‘finished’. And they certainly were - never seen so much green and so little white flower.
The diabolical bit; this was sold (at the cost of £56 for 5 of us) as a snowdrop visit. So certainly it’s fallen foul of the trades descriptions act. The gate refused to refund us (don’t worry - letter of official complaint will be forthcoming, with refund requested), but what on earth gives Welford Park the idea that they can still charge the public (and there were lots arriving this morning alongside us) to see their snowdrops when their snowdrops have finished? If I book to watch the cricket at Lords but it rains, I get a refund. How they think they can get away with charging to see non-existent snowdrops is baffling. They’ve finished earlier than Welford may have liked, but that’s just tough. Bandits & robbers. Buyers beware.
They are selling tickets up to 3/3/24 - so there’s over a week more of them robbing customers at this stage!!

We recently visited in October half term with extended family and we’re so glad we did. What a magical winter event. Having lived in the area for my whole life (before relocating) we had never visited Welford Park and I can’t believe we hadn’t until now. Such a stunning place. The event was well ran, so many members of staff on hand to help and guide you. The lights at this event were spectacular and the children were in awe of them, as were the adults. The formal gardens in particular were stunning. Hot chocolates were some of the best we’ve had, although super hot so make sure kids don’t drink straight away (our greedy girl tried to and learnt the hard way how hot it can be!) there’s also a marquee with a bar, there was a craft stall and some stalls to eat (although we didn’t so couldn’t comment on these!) would definitely recommend such a family friendly well ran event.

Wonderful evening meandering through beautiful grounds looking at the incredible light and sound installations. We spent two hours taking in the lights, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying the food stalls. Well be back next year. Thank you to the family and to Nick the groundskeeper who was so delightful to meet and gave us so much information!

Just come back from the Spectacle of light. What a lovely evening. The lights were great, the staff were fab, especially the guy who showed you where to go first. We ctually went round twice, the 2nd time, we were competely on our own, and it was superb. If i could make some observations, maybe have the lights on the front lawn move in time to the music? Also, as good as Angels and demons theme tune is, its all that we heard. Maybe play some other music throught the evening.

We have just been to the specticle of light the greeting by one of the car park attendants (Lady on way in) was not great if she was happy to be working she needed to tell her face! Luckily all the others were OK and the staff greeting and scanning tickets were very nice. The lights done throughout the grounds are lovely and beautifully done, but at £24 for an adult entry not good value for money, we went as a family of six 4 adults 2 children and it takes about an hour to wander through, stopping for a hot chocolate at £6 each, when reaching the food tents we chose to go home hungry (the children had had their tea) as we didn't want to spend any more money. I know everything's gone up I know we had a choice but at £24 we expected more sorry.

Visited recently for their illuminated walk event Spectacle of Light. Having visited previously for the famous snowdrop walk I had no idea what to expect but WOW, what a transformation. The paths were good order especially considering the recent heavy rain, the way the walk opened up to reveal the grounds and the house with the church behind was beautiful. Good value and worth a visit again next year if it returns.

Hi is the park open now? Assuming it has been closed due to Covid. Is the car part open again too?
Escrita el 17 de junio de 2020
The grounds of Welford Park are only open to the public during our snowdrop displays during February each year, for the rest of the year we are closed. For the exact dates please check the website.

Can you have access to the wood without admission to the house which I believe is closed now?
Escrita el 14 de marzo de 2019
No I am afraid there is no admission to the property now as we have a lot of tree surgery and path maintenance in progress. We look forward to welcoming visitors next February, 2020 !

Thankyou for your answer, yes I did find it hard going, but the rewards in the lovely abundance of snowdrops had to be worth it! It really was a sight and I am glad I didn't miss it.
