Everyone there are selling the same stuff looks like and held the passed away and they were selling what was left in erratic. It’s all the same stuff. Bathrooms are filthy. Vendors were awful food trucks were awful big waste of time.

Fabulous place for you to walk through history and see objects from the past, as if you were walking through a museum, with the advantage of being able to buy what interests you. Very familiar and happy program

If you want a day of treasure hunting go to The Elephant's Trunk. September is later in the season therefore the number of vendors is more limited but there are definitely plenty of them to shop. It is a big roomy flea market. You do have to pay an admission fee of a dollar or two. Most of the items are used I would say 90% but there are some new items mixed in as well. If you look hard enough and barter with the vendors you can come home with a couple of treasures.

Just what you would expect from a flea market and more…numerous vendors, polite people, fabulous finds and good food. The walking is hard because of the size of the flea market if you’re a senior citizen but it’s worth it. All vendors were friendly and helpful. Go and enjoy a pleasant treasure hunting experience.

Had been wanting to come here for years, and overall it basically lived up to my expectations. All sorts of fun stuff to look through and a good variety at that. There wasn't as much furniture as I was hoping for though, and overall I get the sense that maybe there aren't as many vendors as there maybe used to be. I still had a great time though and would gladly return.

As usual the elephants trunk flea market does not disappoint with its curios, oddities comma 's antiques, vintage items, everyday wares and collectibles. Some of the prices okay several of the prices okay the majority of the prices are in outer space for what some of these items are. However, if you shop and take your time you can find a bargain. August is not the ideal time on the east coast of New England to be out in full fledge sunlight because it is just so hot. I always complain that I wish the creators of the market had not chopped down so many trees in the center of it because it would provide beautiful shade for its vendors as well as shoppers. Therefore, we noted that there were big empty areas in the market where there were no vendors. Regardless, we always enjoy our trips to the elephant's trunk flea market.

Just to let everyone know (because they never bothered to post it on their fb page or website), Elephant Trunk has recently implemented, through a barely noticeable sign @ the gate, a "No garbage picking" policy. What they call "garbage picking" is all of the stuff vendors don't want to take with them. And I have over the years found some incredible stuff thrown out at flea markets. ET though is now the only flea market in the ny/conn/nj area making this rule, and last week a gentleman who rides around & picks up the "garbage", someone I previously never had any words with & often said hello to/small talk stops me after I've loaded my car w/stuff saying, hey there's no more "garbage picking" in front of everyone. Now I could care less, but his delivery will and probably has, embarrassed a lot of ppl.It is mind blowing that they are deciding to do this now, after I have been going to ET since I was EIGHT yrs old, 1976 I am now 54, I have been going there since day one. What bothered me was that he told ME "no garbage picking", but then I saw he tried to enforce that rule to an African American gentleman, someone also who I've known for years and he would have none of it. I discussed this new rule before he came over to him to give him a heads up, and he simply told me that we're doing them a favor and lightening the load on their backs, and we're repurposing all of the sh!t vendors are throwing away. I always praise ALL flea markets because NORMALLY people aren't treated abrasively & told they can't take that stuff, and they do a great service to their community & to people who travel great distances to these flea markets & have less & less cash in this historically sorry economy.
Anyway, my friend needed some extra bags so I gave him some & off I went. But then as I'm walking away, I see my friend not having any of the new v"no picking" rule, and when all was said & done, he actually not only allows my friend to take his stuff, he loads it on his cart & drives it to the front for him! GOOD for my friend, but by the same token, this person is making different rules for me than for him. So I went back to clarify, and he explained to me that some irresponsible & careless ppl were just shoving their hands blindly into the garbage & getting cut the week before, hence the reason for this new rule. Believe me when I say that's not the only time someone has cut themselves @ ET, so although I respect their new rule, I can't buy the reason for having it. Anyway I asked him if its all right if I take stuff outside of the garbage. "THAT'S FINE" he says, and my friend was standing right there. What happens today on mothers day? Well just a note, between me & my mom last week we spent $150. Today we spent just short of $200. Around that range is typically what we spend every week they've been open, for years and years...from day one. Today I saw a tote someone was throwing away & I was strapping it to my mom's walker as she had her scooter, this was a beat on walker we carry as a spare just in case, I had forgotten my cart. The same guy comes up to me yelling "I told you once, I won't tell you again, NO GARBAGE PICKING, you're blocking the road!! If you do it again you're going to be asked to leave!!! I wasn't even IN the road for one thing, I said, and I reminded him that last week he told me it was okay to pick outside of the garbage pail. He said "I don't CARE" and I said EVERYone today is picking up sh!t, why are you only getting on me? He said "we're telling everybody". Well, that's not true, I said. Last week you hauled a HUGE load of my friend's stuff to the front after you tried to tell him he couldn't take it. I did not see them tell ONE person other than myself they couldn't take any of the stuff vendors were leaving behind. He did this sh!t disrespectfully in front of my mother who just turned 83. Every week I've been taking her to ET to get her out of the house after all week taking care of my dad who's also 83. Even though she takes her scooter around she gets up & walks & its great exercise for her. But this WASN'T a good environment or circumstance for her, this man who is ordinarily very nice & considerate in my opinion couldn't have been more unprofessional. He didn't phase me turning all jekkyl & hyde from last week & inconsiderate & rude, but he got my mom very upset & I had to talk her down from wanting to go talk to management, filing complaints everywhere, etc.
The joke is he said the rule is because ppl cut their hands & they don't want to be sued. Yah real good bruh. Meanwhile, Over the years in handling & lifting furniture & rusted metal I've bought from you're flea market my hands have bled on more than one occasion--it's what inevitably happens when lifting & transporting other ppl's sh!t back to their cars, esp when you have to lug it through a field. "suing ET never once crossed my mind, or my mother's, or others in my family who have over the years bought & sold there. ET is a lot different now, a lot of great ppl recently left who always greeted myself & my mother warmly & would never think of treating ANY customer the way we've been treated today, makes me realize they were the backbone of it all, and the people without doubt who made ET special. In recent years I've heard the complaints from unhappy vendors, and there was a time when they didn't complain at all. The ones who are left, I wish them luck with their new policy and hope they get great joy from whatever they do with the vendor's discarded items, hopefully they don't just throw it away. Not only is it a shame to toss a working drill or shelf or whatever in the trash when it can go to someone who needs one, but the percentage of flea market shoppers who "dumpster dive" and not only help the environment but cut down on waste, is in the 50+% range, and that is going to translate to a LOT of cash they lose because there's the NJ flea market, middletown, stormville, plenty more that don't implement these rules. and hey, maybe losing $200 & sometimes $400 per week from my mom & me will be nbd to them if we decide to not go anymore, and that's a strong likelihood, but maybe its a drop in the bucket to them.
All I know is, we've helped to keep them in business from the very beginning, and there are plenty of times we could have gone to jersey or another flea market even greater in size & we chose to give ET our business because of the EXCEPTIONAL quality of the people who were once working there. That's all changed now, it's a very different place two worlds apart from what it once was. That said, and at the end of this LONG review of ET in the here & now, I encourage ppl to see what its all about, and I truly hope they have a great experience. But I also hope they are aware that this is not the ET that ppl for decades have raved about.

Markets getting thin, they space sellers to make it look more full.
New management is not booking monthly vendors, even though there are plenty of spaces, as well as many inquires from dealers that I personably know of.
I wonder if the owners know that revenue is deliberately not being captured by new management.
There is one good coffee place.
I have been hearing many complaints from costumers that some vendors sell bad merchandise. One person even claimed they left a watch for repair, and the vendor never came back.
In defense of reason, never leave anything with a vendor without a signed receipt.
This market can be much better than what it is, in-spite of the economy.

This is a busy flea market with lots of vendors and lots of choices. It will take some time to go around. Really enjoyable walk on a bad day.
The one negative is our car was blocked in when we were leaving and the staff weren't much help. We would visit again and hope we don't blocked in.

I'd heard of this flea market and was super excited to finally make it out here! It's a really big fair with lots of unique antiques, good food, and unexpected treasures. Prices are pretty cheap, and you have time to wander and take in the glorious market. You need to buy tickets to enter the market in advance, although you can either buy in advance or at the front entrance.

Do you need a cart to truck around your finds?
Escrita el 10 de agosto de 2019
Yes, If I was going again I would take some kind of pushcart, or something on wheels to put my treasures in. Because I didn't have one it kept me from buying things I didn't want to carry around.

Is there ample parking for buyers? (This will be my first time at Elephant’s Trunk.)
Escrita el 7 de junio de 2019
Hello, yes, there is a massive amount of parking on an open grass field but will entail a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to trek.

Do most vendors only accept cash or do they accept credit cards?
Escrita el 26 de septiembre de 2018
Most just accept cash, some accept credit cards. There is an ATM on site. Paypal is another option with some vendors.

Shooting to get there around 8am— will we have issues with traffic? Do we need to get there earlier?
Escrita el 13 de mayo de 2018
There are typically police officers directing traffic so I don't believe it should be a problem. We typically arrive at 9.
Escrita el 30 de mayo de 2018
Check the hotels in Danbury, CT. you're only 15-20 mins away from the Trunk. We've stayed at La Quinta and Hampton Inn. Both have free breakfast and pool. We preferred Hampton. There are more restaurants around them. The Trunk is only open on Sundays. Stormville Airport Flea Market is also about 20 mins away from Danbury. It's open on Saturday and Sunday. Check their website for the weekends they are open. You can do Stormville on Saturday and the Trunk on Sunday. Wear comfortable shoes!
