An interesting beach location with a short section of sandy beach, some nice coves, jetty, multi-coloured rock formations and coastline views. We used to be able to walk on a concrete path from the jetty under the cliffs to a rocky promontory but there are now signs saying no entry at the start, The path still seems secure and people were out there.
There are remnants on the promontory, concrete and iron, of old fishing sheds and a plaque commemorating them for their 60 years existence till 2009 and views inward towards the jetty. Once off the path, it becomes rock scrambling, especially if you want to view the ocean on the other side of the promontory and I don't think that view is worthwhile when the coves are much prettier. We had popped into Jervis Bay and Rapid Bay that day as well and this was the best of the three.

Such a magic location where people bring the European feel. Stripped tents, snorkeling and the European bathing suits!

Just prior to xmas and very quiet.
Parking was easy near the beach and it allows easy access to a small jetty for fishing or a small sandy beach for swimming or snorkelling. You could dive it and hire tanks from Pete at Sea dragon dive lodge on route to the beach.
There are caves to explore and we had a dolphin swimming round when we visited

Second Valley is a hidden treasure, Rudimentary beach shacks dot the shady trail to the beach and theres a great store to satisfy both day travellers and visitors to the caravan park. Easy to get to and a place you could easily retire to. Simply quaint, quiet and relaxing.

I'm biased because my cottage was up the road, but this became my favourite beach on the Fleurieu. I saw it in several different weather conditions and it was fascinating each time - beautiful coastal scenery and a very interesting little beach.

The beach is good for a swim with a small sandy section. The other areas are rocky or cliffs which is good for a walk and sigthseeing. Great views along the coast. You can fish from the jetty plus the water is great for snorkeling or scuba diving.

This beach is one of South Australia’s hidden gems 💎 We love coming here and spending the day. There is so much to see and explore. The views are absolutely stunning. The caravan park is located right next to this beautiful beach. There is a deli with a good variety of foods and products however it’s very expensive. Toilets located at the car parking bay. No matter how cool the weather may be, there is often swimmers or divers in the water. Seems to be a hot spot for divers.

Such a great place, we loved coming here and exploring all of the history this beach holds. Only thing is there are shark rocks so beware! Views are great but we came in colder weather so we couldn’t swim but the swim here in warm weather is beautiful. Definitely recommend coming here!

We stopped in to Second Valley Beach to have a look and take a walk on the jetty. Such rugged cliffs and little stone cottages. A very cold windy day, but such a quant little spot.

On a leisurely round trip drive from Victor Harbour we called in to the pretty little village of Second Valley and visited the Jetty, at SV beach. Known for its leafy sea dragons it nestles in a little picturesque valley. We didn’t visit the sea horses as diving kit is needed, but the water is clear and cold. There are good clean public toilets at the jetty.

106 km by shortest route the B23. Watch out for Kangaroos at dawn and dusk. They bend cars even Bull Bars.
