Don't miss this hike! Stunning view!

Hiked this spot with a 6 year old and two 9 year olds. wasn't what I'd call an easy hike for young kids...couple of water crossings , but def doable and totally worth it!

Near Rangeley Lake, Hard to find, walk includes stream crossings and walking across rocks and boulders.

This site is not very well marked and was difficult to find. It does require a challenging hike across streams and boulders, but it is something most people could do.
It is free and close to Rangeley Maine.

Pleasant Hike & Beautiful Falls
jul. de 2019 • Familia
Among the best waterfalls to visit in Maine. About 90' tall. There is nice pool at the bottom you can soak in.

Angel Falls is not in Rangeley (I don't understand or can find the Houghton Street, Rangeley address that Trip Advisor uses). Angel Falls is about 45 minutes from downtown Rangeley off the Bemis Road (aka Bemis Track) closer to Roxbury Maine. you can get good directions at the Rangeley Chamber of Commerce office off Main Street in Rangeley.

The hike in is about 20-30 minutes depending on how fast a hiker you are. The hike is fairly level, but the path is rough and you have to cross a small river on stones at least 3 times. You need good balance/footing and some stamina to handle this comfortably.

It's a great trip for a large group or for kids.

The dirt road off the Bemis Room (also dirt) to the parking area is marked on a tree, but you need to be alert for it.

Not crowded, but there is a steady stream of people coming and going.

(For an easier hike to water falls and a swimming hole, check out Smalls Falls off RT 4 on the other side of Rangeley.)

Challanging hike to amazing views
jun. de 2018 • Parejas
Crossing the stream several times was the only real challenge, and after crossing the first it seemed to get easier. Rather dry, so crossing was not bad. Worth the trip!

Very Pretty

Nice peaceful place. Beautiful to see but if you are an older person with knee problems you won't see much. A lot of stairs.

Amazing

Pretty easy hike. Low flow so crossing the stream once and the brook three times was easy. Some rock clambering. Park up on the road unless you have a high clearance vehicle. Road down is solid but crossed by several drainage ditches. Made it easily with two wheel drive pickup.

Hiked to Angel Falls September, 2017
sept. de 2017 • Familia
This is a moderate hike. Took about 30 minutes to get there. It criss crosses the stream 3 times. River was low so no problem. May be trickier if higher water. Trail is off to the left of the large boulder. NOT down the path of fallen trees. Red stripes on trees and rocks guide your path.

Nice and Peaceful
sept. de 2017 • Parejas
When my wife and I went to the falls we came to the dirt road the GPS took us to, which said nothing about Angel Falls. So seeing we had about 3 miles to drive on this road I was worried it was not the right way. But as you go about 2 miles you see a big cement block spray painted Angel Fall with and arrow pointing. On down you come to a y in the road, straight is private and the Falls is down to the left. If you do not have a high settign vehicle, i suggest park at top and walk down. There are dug out ruts across the road and a low setting car may not make it. Once you get to the trail journey up towards the falls. It is pretty easy, a few rock hops across a stream if it's not to high. It get rockier as your go and not to really a challenge. Once we got to the falls, this time of year was not good, there was barley any water coming down the falls. It is a nice hike and a great view, just wish the falls was running good since we drove 2.5 hours to see them. In my opinion, this isn't a good hike for dogs. Some say it is, but I believe it could be hard on the paws and possible injury for them on some of the rocks. Over all it's a nice place. I will be going back when more water is running. Some say best time is June- July, so I may be checking them out again in the spring.

A hidden Gem!
jul. de 2017
This waterfall is hidden deep in the forest. The road that leads to the "parking lot" can only be done in a regular car in good weather conditions. Otherwise you will need a 4x4. But it is well worth it. The hike up to the waterfall is adventurous. You can get there with dry feet only when the water in the river is low. Otherwise you will need boots or other equipment to keep your feet dry.
The waterfall itself is beautiful and you can get up real close to it! Choose a nice day and go see it!

Road closed
ago. de 2017 • Amigos
We were very disappointed because the road was closed by a logging company working back there. This was on August 10, 2017. A local guy said there is not another way into the falls.
