Not too far from 68. Decided to make a quick stop. Very small park with vault toilet. A couple picnic tables. Bridge and history is amazing.

Short pit-stop on our rambling travels down Route 40, we came across an unexpected find. Great spot to stretch the legs and take a short stroll. We climbed the bridge to a pretty significant pitch (suppose this is the result of a 19th century bridge built before drainage!).
Curious to spelling, as signage at site varies from maps and other sources, including TripAdvisor.

Walk across or just stand and marvel in its beauty! This bridge is an amazing sight to see! The way it goes up and back down in the center is so crazy to see in this day and age, but it is preserved and stands proud!

I enjoyed it, the views and the shops were nice. I didn't eat at the restaurant, so I can't comment on that. I would recommend a visit.

I remember stopping here as a kid on our regular trip to visit Grandparents. The last visit was probably 1976. We sought it out since we were passing through the area. Still the way I remembered it, but appreciate it more now of course. Very interesting Historical Structure. It would have been nice if the Vegetation was cut along the Stream, I assume it is like that for environmental reasons. This is a nice detour off of I-68 it will only add 15 minutes or so to your drive.

The bridge is very striking and picture perfect. We enjoyed strolling through the small artisan village and speaking with the talented men and women who create baskets, pottery, and many other works of art. The village is beautiful and the gardens in front of the small cabins reminded us of English gardens. It was a lovely adventure for us.

Casselman River Bridge State Park is a lovely spot. The historic stone bridge was formerly used for traffic, but is now a pedestrian bridge. There are signs explaining the history of the bridge. Beyond the bridge is a quaint little town to stroll through. There are a few picnic tables in the grassy area around the bridge. My husband and I enjoyed walking around the park with our dog. We got some great photos. There is ample parking, and public restrooms. Oh, and the park is free.

Rt. 40 long before I-68 is the highway connected Western MD to Eastern WVA. Now with I-68 (National Highway) becomes the major road, Rt. 40 is a scenic road parallel to the Highway. The state park is a small space with Casselman River Bridge (no longer used as transportation bridge but is a historic place to visit. The bridge was built in 1813 was was the longest single span stone bridge in the U.S. The park is now pedestrian bridge with a good area of fly fishing and picnic. It is about 15 minute drive from Frostburg (via I-68 or about 20 minutes by Rt. 40)

To call it a "State Park" is a bit of a reach. Having said that, I am glad the bridge has been preserved and is a neat steep bridge that provides a quick secluded photo opportunity. Combined with the Spruce Forest Artisan Village and couple of restaurants - Penn Alps and Cornucopia Cafe, it offers a chance to stretch your legs before driving onwards.
