We had a lot of fun here. The track was fast the day we visited. Staff were friendly, building was clean, plenty of seating, reasonable prices for food and drink, and we even won a few bucks. But the men's restroom was filthy. The floor was disgusting. You might as well use the stables if you want the cleaner of the two. There is just no excuse for how bad it was. There were not a lot of guests the night we went. I will give them another chance and plan to return but if it is like that again then it will be our last visit.

Well, You can thank the lottery (1972) for helping to put the remaining 3 horse racing tracks out of business in Michigan...It's a real shame...DRC, Hazel and Northville were thriving businesses at one time and very nice to go to for a great afternoon or evening...Our recent trip to Northville Downs was still fun despite the shabby rundown building and missing lights on the tote board...The Clubhouse is no longer a classy atmosphere, but instead filled with frantic gamblers who are betting on different races all day long...It's sad...The place is dirty and extremely run down...but, they did offer fresh bbq hot dogs and burgers and beer outside at the rail for really cheap prices...the horses still ran the same...all and all, it was no where near the old glory of the track experience, but still fun even though it was so different than yesteryear...unfortunately, most things don't stay the same...Still, it's the only game in town and by far the cheapest sporting event anywhere in this overpriced sporting America...

This place is a GEM that still holds the old racetrack charm, even during the covid crisis, this place wreaks "cool". Food was limited ( covid) but offers fresh bbq burgers n dogs inexpensive, outside ( whats a track without them)..good old fashioned horse racing, exciting, it's a must see if your anywhere within an hour of it I think in 2021 there open for live racing every fri n sat starting in middle of March...have fun, relax , take friends and you will want to go back every weekend !!

Great location, maybe the only one left in SE Michigan. The physical structure looks worn and very tired. People are mostly nice and reasonable priced food. Not a bad way to spend an evening.
Check their schedule before you go.

too bad this place has seen better days, a long time ago. Horse racing is not appreciated any more, and this place shows it. I remember when this, DRC, Hazel Park were all high quality places, that actually had elegant elements. Those are all long gone----and now not much is left---maintenance and upkeep are forgotten words. It is too bad that all of this is reduced to be without people---- all electronic----- people may think that is good, but it is BAD. MAchines are taking over, and people just do not see how cold of a world that creates.

Northville Downs is a great place. But I heard the last time I was there they may be closing in November. No plans have been made for a new place for horse racing in Michigan. I went on friday which was dollar night. It was fun to watch the horses run. It was also fun to bet too. However the interior was old and beat up. It would not surprise me if they closed down since no renovations are being made. The carpet is 1970 royal blue and badly needs to be vacuumed and tables wiped. Overall the whole place needs to be cleaned but if it closes in november all of this makes perfect sense. It was said a new place would be found but as of now- nothing. this is why I believe when this place closes that will be it. New homes, restaurants and business will occupy the space. They will cost some big bucks too. All perfectly understandable too. I go because I want to say I went to the last race track in the metro area.

This place doesn't get a lot of bad reviews but actually folks it's not a bad place. Yes it is dated but they do have people walking around cleaning it up and it still holds that electrifying moment as your horse crosses that line. The nostalgia of this place gives it a nice charm and ambience. They have beer and they have snacks and you can even dine in the restaurant there. The prices are not that costly but in comparison to other venues it's great. If you haven't been here or was contemplating a visit, come check it out. It is still a lot of fun before it finally closes forever.

This was the most low class experience that I have had. At least two of the white female Clerks aka hilly billies had the audacity to show their racial up bringing from the back woods. Glad when MI opens up sports betting especially at the lottery machines. Those two losers can go right back to their trailer park. No class what so ever! Spend your money elsewhere!

This was our first time at horse racing so I really don't have much to compare to, but the staff seemed under trained. As people who have never been to a horse race we struggled getting help on how to place bets. Also it seems a little aged, particularly the bathrooms.

Exciting racing. Close up. Place your bets and hope for the best. Good deals on food and drinks for certain promotions. You just have to watch for them.
