The views of downtown Minneapolis from this park are great. The waterfront street that abuts it is picturesque. The signboards give a great interpretation of how important the Mississippi was.

There's a huge hydro electric turbine in cast iron weighing 15 tons that is just laying by the side of the road. This was installed by the Ford Motor company in 1924.

what a area to spend some time, main street and this park is a part of that. walk out and see the river in the back water areas, the channel flow and the flow over the damm area, plus the science study in the neighboring building.
I really like hiking down the gorge on the trail and playing in the little channel you'd never know you were in a big city. Being in the shadow of the stone arch bridge is cool too. You could fish if you want to others are.
this whole area with music events and restaurants is really nice. PS don't forget Nicolett Island too!

If you are a bit of science or history buff or if you are into a nice views of a semi-decent Minneapolis skyline then this is an okay place to visit. It didn’t exist a few years ago and it’s nice that the city has decided to renovate it and open it for public. It’s a popular sport among tourists and locals because it offers a nice view of the upper Mississippi falls and downtown. Photography is popular here, selifies abound. There are no public restrooms at this location but there are several restaurants just minutes away so they can be used in need. No food or water either. It does feel that the city didn't go all the way when thy opened this site to public; it's only half done.

This is a great place to go after you have visited one of the pubs on St Anthony Main. A great place to watch and feel the power of the Mississippi .

After touring the Mill City Museum we walked along the paths and bridge to the Water Power Plant. The view from the bridge is fantastic. We stood there and enjoyed watching the water move and talked about the history. Nice way to spend an afternoon!

This is a very beautiful walk along the Mississippi River. We grabbed a cup of coffee at a nearby coffee shop and went for a very relaxing stroll. This was our 1st time in Minneapolis and I'm glad we took the time to stop here. I wouldn't plan on a whole afternoon but totally worth checking out.

This is a park along the Heritage Trail in Minneapolis that gives a view of the power stations that supplied the energy to the nearby flour mills after they stopped using the Mississippi River to turn their grinding wheels. Though somewhat small the current of the Mississippi funneled through the turbines is swift. They are located next to the St.Anthony falls apron and across from the locks.

Walked the park and enjoyed the views. The signage was great that explained the history of the area. Need several hours to enjoy it.
