Christmas on the farm is a yearly event through the month of December. It show cases the house house, church and school house decorated in the 1920 fashion. A great place to spend an afternoon

Lots to see for such a low price of $5 to get in for seniors. I love the house, animals, church and country school house. They have special events going on all year long. I would recommend everyone to go see it.

The Wessels Living History Farm is easily located at the I80 Highway 81 intersection. This museum takes you to the 1920's and life on the prairie. The home, barn, granary, church and school let you experience places people of the 1920's lived, worked, learned and worshiped. The docents at the farm can connect you to the life experiences. Special events match the seasons, Christmas, harvest, etc, provide unique opportunities for learning. During the school year and summer, students are provided living history classes. Two building provide the opportunity to see period tractors and equipment.

This was an interesting 1920's history museum. There were many buildings to explore, including one full of antique tractors, a barn (that can be reserved as an event venue), church and several others. There were goats, ponies and other small animals to entertain children. The house was air conditioned and a young lady in '20's housewife garb gave us a tour of the Wessel home. She was very knowledgeable as she pointed out the various vintage household items. Refreshments of lemonade and cornmeal cookies (recipe available) hit the spot.

This is an unusual collection of an early 19th century house, church, barn, tractors, etc. A great insight into how people lived and worked in the early 1900s. The community of York contributed to make this place happen. Good place to visit

This peaceful farm will take you back in time and remind you of a simpler life. Be sure to check out the farm animals while you're at the farm. They are so cute. There is so much to see that you'll want to plan on a minimum of 1 hour on the farm.

Father's Day visit. 1920s/30s style farmstead. Touring the old barn and farmhouse, brought back many memories from the early 50s. Many similarities between the two eras in the agricultural equipment and lifestyle. No special events going on, so this was a leisurely visit. Tour guide of the house, although knowledgeable, took just a little too much time going into detail about items. Loved being able to point out different items to the family. Church was an excellent example of the era, as were the rest of the equipment and buildings that were displayed. Animals were friendly! Look forward to returning sometime when an actual event is taking place.

Great display of a 1920ish farmstead. Well maintained and cared for. The house is spectacular and our guide, Marilyn, treated us as guests in her own home. Many, many beautiful Art Deco and pieces from the 20s. Very, very well presented as a upper-class farm family. Great for all ages.

There are larger museums of farming in the MIdwest, but this one is interesting because of its focus on life in the 1920s. The house is well-furnished with period decor and items for daily living. Our tour guide for the house was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The collection of tractors in the barn is impressive but could use more interpretive signage. The number of farm animals on display was small when we were there, but almost all of them were expecting, so there should be a crop of babies soon. There is an attractive meadow of wildflowers near the road. The farm is easy to reach from I-80 and the admission price is very reasonable.

We have driven past for years but never taken the time to stop until now! What a great place! A 1916 restored Sears house, barns with animals and baby animals. A huge shed with antique tractors, a restored church and restored school house and so much more! A great place to take you children or grandchildren!
