A fascinating museum I understand run by volunteers, who do a great job
Nantwich has so much history and remarkable buildings - but start here, learn the history of the town then have a walk around !

Really pleased that you enjoyed your visit. Hope that you can come back for one of the summer events that the Museum is running. There are Walking tours, Talks and Workshops. Further details can be found on the Nantwich Museum website. In addition the Town Square will see willow weaving, spinning and wattle and daub making on 1 August. On 10 August there will be a medieval reenactment.

Nice little museum packed full of interesting displays. Loved the cheese room and the history of Cheshire Cheese. Well worth visiting if in the area. Couple of steps up to entrance.

Great that you enjoyed your visit. The Museum also has a shop which is full of great git ideas including many local books and booklets about Nantwich's history. Please come back to see the new free Sculpture exhibitions that have just opened at the Museum.

As you rightly say, there is plenty going on at Nantwich Museum. The Festival of Science continues until 30 September, and a new exhibition launches later this month. Entry to the Museum is completely free making it a cheap family day out!

I have visited the Nantwich Museum many times a lovely museum with many artefacts found at sites around Nantwich. The town has a lot of history. I was born at the Barony Hospital now offices. I am proud to be a DABBER and very proud of my town!!

A new exhibition 'Nantwich Illuminated' will stat on 19 July and run until 30 September. It will tell the fascinating story of the town's gas work. Entry to both the Museum and the exhibition is free.
The Nantwich Museum Science Festival will start on 20 July and run until 30 September. it will feature lots of exciting activities and events for all the family. Please have a look at the Nantwich Museum website for more details.

Attended the Welsh Row walk this morning, Andy was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and interesting, we saw sites along Welsh Row that we hadn’t noticed before, interesting facts about houses and roads, also how many buildings had once been pubs. Looking forward to doing one of the many other available walking tours

Please come back and try one of our other walking tours. We have the following other Walking Tours in the next couple of weeks - Town Tour (6 May,2023) , Nantwich East (16 May), Nantwich River Tour (20 May). All tours start at 11am and cost only £6 per person (£5 for Museum members).

Fantastic local museum, we have visited before and enjoyed previous exhibitions (on local sportspeople and Olympian’s last Summer).
Today we enjoyed learning about the Civil War and the Battle of Nantwich and my son loved looking at the old coins. The gift shop is great and stocks lots of lovely things at different price ranges. Museum staff were very helpful, kind and friendly, they gave my son some free stickers and a pencil.
A brilliant local resource, well worth a visit. Always makes me proud to be a Dabber visiting the museum and learning about the amazing history of our beautiful town.

Really pleased that you enjoyed your visit to your local Museum. The Museum is currently undergoing a series of changes and improvements to further improve the visitor experience. New display cases have been installed and museum exhibits are being reorganised. Please do come back to join us for Pancake Day at Nantwich Museum between 10.30 and 12.30 on Tuesday 21 February.

Nantwich is a very nice market town and worth visiting the museum, not very large, but still a lot of interesting things to see and read about. They also have a Cheese Room which we have been in before but this time it was closed. It is situated in what used to be a Victorian library. You can learn about the different industries in the town which included salt, clockmaking and clothing and information about famous people from the town and also read about the English Civil War. Various events and exhibitions are held as well. There is no charge, but there is a donation box.

We're really pleased that you enjoyed your visit. The Museum is free to entre and a great way to spend an hour or so whilst enjoying the delights of Nantwich.
Nantwich Museum is currently preparing for it's major summer exhibition 'A Spectacle of Sport' which starts on Thursday 21 July. The exhibition takes a grandstand journey through the sporting stories that have made headlines (often international) over the last 150 years. From football to swimming and para sports to riding for the disabled there is something for everyone in this all-inclusive free exhibition. There will also be an accompanying series of well-being walks, sporting talks and family holiday activities.

The museum itself is full of interesting information as Nantwich is rich in history. There are also tours of the town available which give a fascinating insight into the place.

Arrived in Nantwich and found the car park which was full. Hung around a while and eventually someone left and I got parked. From there it was just a short walk to the museum, which is quite small but full of interesting finds. Also very good on the history of the town and the industries. I felt I learnt a lot. There was only me there. I thought the small shop area was disappointing but the museum was very good.

Thanks for your review. The Love Lane car park can get busy especially on Market days. However there are a number of other car parks in the town. Pleased that you enjoyed the Town Museum which is FREE and has an ever changing exhibition programme. The latest exhibition is 'Movement' by Alex Jabore - a display of ballet and wildlife paintings and which runs until 7th May. Please do come back and visit us again perhaps enjoying one of the varied selection of guided walks that are on offer. Full details are on the Nantwich Museum website.

Hello Michelle, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Yes we are wheelchair accessible. Next to the main entrance is a side gate for wheelchair access. Just ring the bell on the wall and you will be let in.
